Assignment of Dr. El Siefy as acting deputy of the Faculty of Commerce for Education and Student Affairs
President of Alexandria University Dr. Essam El Kurdi decided to assign Dr. Abdel Latif Mabrouk El Siefy as acting deputy of the Faculty of Commerce for Education and Student Affairs starting from 25 July 2017.
Dr. El Siefy is Professor and Head of Business Administration Department in the Faculty of Commerce, Alexandria University.
"El Kurdi" and receives South Korea's ambassador in Cairo to promote cooperation in the field of advanced technology
President of Alexandria University Dr. Essam El Kurdi has recieved Mr. Yoon Sun Ju, the ambassador of South Korea in Cairo at the head of a diplomatic delegation from the Korean embassy. The visit aims to strengthen cooperation between the two sides in the field of advanced technology, and discussing possibility of taking advantage of the Korean experience in technological sciences as well as cooperation in of academic and research areas.
Dr. Kurdi emphasized the importance of openness and building close relationships with all prestigious universities and scientific institutions in various countries of the world. Alexandria University welcomed to take full advantage of the Korean experience through
grants and training opportunities provided by the Korean universities for AU students.
Dr. Kurdi called the Korean side to cooperate in the establishment of Alexandria University branch in Borg El Arab that will include technical complexes in various scientific disciplines.
Renewal of ISO certificate of the Alexandria University administration
Alexandria University President Dr. Essam El-Kurdi declared that the university administration has renewed the ISO certificate ISO 9001/2008 for the third. The certificate was renewed upon the second follow up visit of the certificate provider TUV Rhienland. The visit was on Tuesday 18/7/2017 where all quality requirements were fulfilled.
AU administration got the ISO for the first time on 2/6/2015. the certificate was renewed under supervision of Dr. Essam El-Kurdi and Dr. Hisham Gaber the AU vice president for Education and Students Affairs.
The Quality Assurance Center represented by Dr. Kamal Metwally and his work team revised the documentation, implementing the international standards and preparations for the visit.
Alexandria University grants 46 PhD and 127 master degrees during July-17
Alexandria University Council in a meeting on Thursday, July 20, 2017, headed by the President of the university Dr. Essam El-Kurdi approved the promotion and appointment of 37 of faculty members. The council also adopted 46 PhD and 127 master degrees conferred by university faculties and institutes.
The Council adopted the cooperation agreements and memorandums of understanding between Alexandria University and universities of N'jexia, Liniey, Shan Dong province, COMESA University for regional integration, Belgrade University, National
University of Ireland, Universiti Teknologi MARA from Malaysia, University of Zanzibar from Tanzania and Information Technology Institute of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
Next August, old student to begin transferring
Alexandria University Council in a meeting on Thursday, July 20, 2017, headed by the President of the university Dr. Essam El-Kurdi agreed to start students transferring for old students in the first week of next August until one month after study beginning.
For new sudents, transferring will begin after the announcement of the result of the first and second phases, in accordance with the transferring criteria set by the Supreme Council of Universities
