For the sixth consecutive year, the first place for AU students in the summer activities festival
Alexandria University Council of Education and Students Affairs in its session held on Monday 21/8/2017, headed by Dr. Hisham Gaber reviewed the results of the sports activities of the academic year 2016/2017 including the 44th tournament of martyr El Rifaai and the summer activities festival of Egyptian universities, in which AU students won the first place for the sixth consecutive year.
"Military Education" with no fees for students of the first year in all faculties of Alexandria University
Alexandria University Council of Education and Students Affairs in its session held on Monday 21/8/2017, headed by Dr. Hisham Gaber approved the proposal of the Department of military education to exempt the first year students from the fees of military education course while the students of the second year will pay a fee of 100 EGP for students in addition to 50 EGP for each year of postponement during the years of study, just like other universities.
16 September... The study starts in the new academic year in Alexandria University
Alexandria University Council during its latest session on Tuesday 22 August 2017 headed by the Rector Dr. Essam El-Kurdi reviewed the final preparation for the new academic year 2017/2018 that will begin on 16 September 2017. The Council stressed on all faculties to finish all maintenance work for all facilities and to prepare lectures tables and students Id's before study starting date.
Dr. Kurdi pointed out the importance of holding meetings with the students to provide information about the faculties and its academic departments and activities. He emphasised all the facilities that don't work with credit hours system to prepare a plan to update it's regulations in preparation to work with credit hours system.
El-Kurdi emphasizes on supporting the African students to study in Alexandria University
Alexandria University President Dr. Essam El-Kurdi emphasized AU concern on supporting the African students to study in university branches in Africa. He indicated that AU receives students from many African countries to study in Alexandria or in university branches in the Chadian capital N'Djamena and in South Sudan, in addition to cooperation agreements with several African universities.
This came during receiving the students of the faculties of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture in AU branch in N'Djamena for three weeks training course in Alexandria.
AU Deputy for Education and Students Affairs Dr. Hisham Gaber declared that the training course for Chadian students represents university intention
to acquire Chadian branch students scientific skills and on job experience in their disciplines as the training is addressed in the faculties of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine while accommodation is in university cities free of charge. He revealed that the program is including mutual activities between African and Egyptian students to exchange experience and skills.
At the end, the Chadian students thanked AU leaders and all attendants for the great efforts they do to promote the higher education and scientific research in Africa
27 August.... AU launches the activities of the sports forum of Egyptian universities
Under auspices of the Minister of Sport and Youth Eng. Khaled Abddelaziz and AU President Dr. Essam El-Kurdi, the activities of the sports forum of Egyptian universities will start on Sunday 27th of August 2017 within the celebrations of the diamond jubilee of the university. The activities will be held in the playgrounds of university cities for three days.
Alexandria University Deputy for Education and Students Affairs Dr. Hisham Gaber stated that the competitions will be held as collaboration between AU Youth Care Administration and the Ministry of Sport and Youth. He added that sports teams from 13 universities and 17 facilities of Physical Education would participate in the competitions.
