Alexandria University receives South Sudan Ambassador
Dr. Essam El-Kurdy, President of Alexandria University received Mr. Antony Koon the Ambassador of South Sudan and the culture attaché. The visit came in the frame of university plan to overcome obstacles that face the foreign students in the university.
Dr. El-Kurdy emphasized the university care to connect with the African students during their studying and after graduation. He added that AU considers foreign students as ambassadors of their countries and the university provides all information about its different faculties via the university website to facilitate registration and graduation procedures for the foreigner.
Spreading the experiment of e-book in the complex of theoretical colleges
Alexandria University President Dr. Essam El-Kurdi emphasized on the need to work with the e-book in all the faculties of the theoretical complex starting from the second semester. He also called to spread the experiment of the faculty of commerce in the development of the digital university book. Prof. Dr. Osama El Toukhi the Assistant Lecturer in the Faculty of Commerce presented the experiment which allows the student to browse the scientific materials via the web site. Dr. Osama said that there are studios under preparation to record the scientific books of the Faculty of Commerce and the preparation of interactive questions for students and training courses on the website.
The scientific blog of AU institutions is inaugurated
Alexandria University Council headed by Dr. Essam El-Kurdi agreed to launch of the scientific blog of university faculties and institutes to store researches and studies, either published in scientific conferences or to promote the faculty members.
The Council agreed to update the list of ISI web knowledge with the new issue (SCIE AWD SSCI ISI 2016). The new issue contains 11487 magazines distributed on 234 allocated to start on the first of January 2018.
AU receives a delegation from New Course Association for education and cultural services in China
Under the approach of strengthen relations and cooperation between Alexandria University, the university president Dr. Essam El Kurdi received a delegation from New Course Association for education and cultural services in China headed by Dr. Wang Mieng Ki. The two sides discussed ways of cooperation and signed a scientific protocol to enroll Chinese students in Arabic Education Center in the Faculty of Arts in addition to exchange professors, students and researches.
Dr. Essam El Kurdi emphasized on receiving Chinese students to study in Arabic Education Center in the Faculty of Arts starting from the second semester of the current academic year.
The Director of Arabic Education Center Dr. Lana Habib stated that the center received 150 Chinese students since 2011 who are studying Arabic language, English and translation in addition to other programs according to their specialization.
Activating the cooperation protocol between AU and the department of civil protection
The Council of Community Service and Environment Development in its session headed by the President of the University Dr. Essam El-Kurdy in 19th of November 2017 was informed that 181 faculty members and staff had completed the training package of leadership qualification for academic and administrative position. The training package included programs on leadership, strategic thinking, skills development, decision making, university regulations and problem solving.
The Council also agreed to activate the cooperation protocol between the university and the department of civil protection to conduct 8 training courses for free to increase the awareness of fire fighting and prevention.
