On the evening of Thursday, December 21, 2017, Marwa Naji participated in the commemoration of the closing ceremony of the Alexandria University's Diamond Jubilee at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Theater, accompanied by the band led by Maestro Abdelhamid Abdel Ghaffar.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, congratulated the Alexandria University's administration, professors, students and employees for their continued academic and societal excellence. He also stressed the role of universities in the lighthouse and the radiology center for knowledge and culture and achieving the aspirations of the Egyptian society in progress and development. The President of the University, Dr. Essam Al-Kordi, thanked the President of the Republic, Dr. Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi, for his patronage of this celebration and his constant patronage of science and scientists. Pope Twadros also delivered a speech in which he expressed his pride that he is a graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University, where he learned the keys to success in life - accuracy, order and the art of dealing with others.
Dr. Mohamed Sultan, governor of Alexandria, praised the work of Alexandria University to serve the society not only for Alexandria but for all of Egypt. He pointed out that it is the first expert house and the consulting office which provides all the assistance to the governorate in all projects carried out in the governorate.
On the sidelines of the celebration, the exhibition "Alexandria University in Tire" included a number of historical pictures about the University of Alexandria since its inception and so far and the most important activities and a number of innovations and projects of university students

Alexandria University of continued its celebrations of the Diamond Jubilee at the Grand Hall of Alexandria Bibliotheca. At the beginning of the ceremony, Dr. Essam El-Kurdi, President of the University, addressed tribute to the President of Egypt Mr. Abdel Fattah El Sisi who said that investment in human and the minds of this young nation is the best investment and that reaching youth in all ways is the goal that we should work for. Dr. Kurdi saluted the brave army of Egypt and its national police, asking God to honor the martyrs with his mercy. He pointed out that Alexandria University is consistently and purposefully seeks to achieve its mission to promote higher education and research and provide the community with specialists in all fields in addition to participation in the development projects that are carried out in Egypt.
Dr. Kurdi pointed out that AU appreciates all the efforts exerted through the giant projects in Egypt which proved to be moving towards the future to reach our normal position among developed countries. He also explained that the university has achieved a lot of achievements in the field of education and scientific research, where it initiated new disciplines according to the latest educational systems, especially in the fields of medicine, engineering and agriculture sciences through scientific agreements with European, American, Chinese and Japanese universities. He indicated that the joint research with world universities enhanced AU rank according to international indexes.
The Rector emphasized that AU aims to consolidate its relations with the Euro-Mediterranean universities by exchanging students and faculty members and carrying out joint research in many important fields, especially those related to the environment, energy and water. He also stated that 12 faculties and institutes have obtained accreditation from the National Authority of Quality Assurance and Accreditation Education.
