AU Vice President: preparing graduate studies agenda for marketing around the world
Alexandria University Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research Dr. Mokhtar Yousef declared that the university is preparing an index containing all Diploma, Masters and PhD programs provided by Alexandria colleges and institutes to represent the university capacities for marketing around the world.
Agreement between AU and University of California
The Council of Graduate Studies and Research of Alexandria University headed by Dr. Mokhtar Yousef adopted the proposed agreement of cooperation between Alexandria University and University of California, Devise (Global Study Program).
Initiating new programs and a department for Chinese language in Alexandria University
AU President Essam El Kurdi announced for initiating new programs in the academic year 2018/2019 for under graduate level. The Faculty of Arts will start the program "Juridical phonetics and linguistics" as the first one in Egypt and Arab countries as a collaboration between the Faculty of Arts and Law.
He added that the study of Chinese language will start during the current year to provide the labor market with qualified personals to work in translation, education and media. The study in "industrial engineering" program will also start in the Faculty of engineering.
A medical convoy from AU to Kenia for free treatment
AU President Dr. Essam El Kurdi talked about the university concern about providing medical and health services to African countries through periodical medical convoys and establishment of hospitals in some countries. This comes within the university role in community service and supporting the neighbor countries, he said.
Dr. Kurdi declared that a medical convoy was sent to Kericho in Kenya and started work yesterday for one week to perform 100 surgical operation for free and using the latest and advanced tools.
Dr. Ahmed El Masry, the head of the Department of Ophthalmology in the Faculty of Medicine stated that the Kenyan Minister of Heath visited the convoy and thanked Alexandria University and the convoy doctors for their efforts. The minister also declared that the convoy members is very competent physicians and technicians with highly technological preparation and tools.
Dr. El Masry declared that 40 surgical operation have been finished successfully for patients from age of two years up to ninety years old.
AU to establish Robots Academy to convert the student thoughts to projects serve the community
The result of the final qualifies of the international competition in Madrid – Spain was announced under supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Sakr the President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Dr. Hossam Othman on behalf of the Minister of Communication.
Dr. Mahmoud Sakr the President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology highlighted the support of the Ministry of Higher Education with 100 thousand EGP as a fund for travel cost, also the National Agency for Communication provided (Business Tablets) to the students.
Dr. Hisham Gaber the AU Vice-President for Education and Students Affairs said that the participation in this event is an evidence that the Egyptian youth is able to develop the country as we have creative students in all fields.
Dr. Abdel Aziz Konswa; the Vice-President of Alexandria University declared that the university will establish an academy for robots to convert ideas into real projects. He indicated that the competition is a knowledge based construction of the students as Egypt needs an economy based on knowledge to achieve development and progress in all fields.
Dr. Said Allam; Dean of the faculty of Engineering pointed out that is the first time the university to host this type of competitions to embrace youth and launch their energies in order to develop innovative projects on land and get rid of all landmines in Egypt.
Eng. Mohamed Aboud; the Manager of HADATH company and President of the competition declared that the company concerned by implementing of programs to develop local and Arab communities in cooperation with the Ministry of Communication and the best universities in and out Egypt.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Osama Ismail; the President of Arab Academy for Science and Technology, Ahmed Basem Al Kerdany; the Command General of North Region, Eng. Gamal Abdel Atey; the Director of Gelcom Company, Dr. Omar Farouk; the Assistant of the President of Scientific Research Academy and number of the faculty members in the university.
