Alexandria University receives Kenya Ambassador
Alexandria University President Dr. Essam El Kurdi has received Kenya Ambassador Mr. Otyano Juffe Makwienga on Sunday 20/5/2015. The meeting discussed how to strengthen the relationships and solve problems of the Kenyan students in Alexandria University.
During the meeting, Dr. Kurdi stated AU keenness on cooperation with the Kenyan universities like the current relations with Moi University in several areas. He also welcomed the Kenyan students who wish to study and train in the Faculty of Medicine through dedicated courses and training programs. Dr. Kurdi announced for increasing the number of grants for Kenyan students upon a request from the ambassador.
The Kenyan Ambassador spoke about some problems facing the students in AU and asked the Rector to provide temporary license to work for practical training.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Hisham Gaber the university vice president for Education and Students Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Othman the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Dr. Ibrahim Rehab the AU Advisor for African Affairs.
Dr. Said Allam is Dean of the Faculty of Engineering
Alexandria University President; Dr.Essam El-Kordi congratulated Dr. Said Allam for being appointed as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for three years upon the republican decree issued on Saturday 19/5/2018.
Dr. Kurdi receives Vice President of Cardiff Metropolitan University
On Tuesday 15/5/2018, Alexandria University President Dr. Essam El Kurdi received Dr. Mohamed Lotfy the Vice President of Cardiff Metropolitan University in UK. The meeting was attended by AU Vice President for Education and Students Affairs Dr. Hisham Gaber, AU Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research Dr. Mokhtar Youssef and Dr. Rasha Al Shinity the Vice Director of Projects Management Unit in the university.
The two sides discussed cooperation opportunities and experience exchange in fields of excellence in the two universities. They also talked about establishing mutual scientific programs in order to enhance the world ranking of both universities through cooperation with prestigious world universities and updating the curricula to be up to date with latest researches.
Dr. Gaber receives Karate champion Ahmed El Masry
Alexandria University Vice President for Education and Students Affairs Dr. Hisham Gaber received on Monday 14/5/2018 the student Ahmed El Masry who winned the World Karate Championship and ranked first in the Ranking of the World Karate Federation for April 2018. Dr. Hisham Gaber stated that the university is keen to support these honorable examples and make all the possibilities available to support its students. He also confirmed his support to the student in order to be qualified to the Olympics with all required support for his scientific study.
Ahmed El Masry; the student at the Faculty of Dentistry presented the schedule of the tournaments in which he will represent Egypt starting in next August.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Sahar Al Sheikh, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry for Education and Students Affairs and Dr. Ahmed Khamis, member of the Technical Committee of the Egyptian Union of Universities.
Alexandria University's student is in the first place on the world in Karate
Dr. Issam El-Kordi; President of Alexandria University, Dr. Hisham Gaber; Vice President of the university for Education and Student Affairs, congratulated Ahmed El Masry; student in the Faculty of Dentistry and player in the Egyptian Karate team for winning first place in the international Karate ranking on the website of the World Karate Federation. El Masry has won several regional and local Olympic medals and the most important of which was the gold medal and the first place in the championship of the World Karate League that was held in Dubai in February 2018. He was honored by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and was awarded the Order of Sports of the first degree.
He was also honored by Dr. Essam El-Kurdi in the celebration of the University's jubilee in last December, and honored again during the closing ceremony of the contest "Start with yourself ....You are the Beginning" organized by Alexandria University in cooperation with the Administrative Control Authority.
