Alexandria University Council Honours Professors and Students Winning First Place in Innovation and Patent Production Index
The Alexandria University Council, in its session held today, Tuesday the 28th of February, 2023, chaired by Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, honoured the professors and students who contributed to Alexandria University obtaining the first place in the ranking of the index of innovation production and patents, and the second place and the silver medal in new and renewable energy projects on the green hydrogen and green ammonia production project, at the conclusion of the activities of the Cairo International Innovation Fair 2023 in its seventh edition.
The Fair was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and the Academy of Scientific Research for Science and Technology in the period from February 13-14, under the auspices of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Mohamed Saqr, President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology.
During the ceremony, the university president stressed that the university is keen to sponsor entrepreneurs and innovators among university students, researchers, and emerging projects, and help them transform their business plans and product models into successful businesses, supporting and embracing the implementation of their ideas related to the industry to ensure effective management of human creations.
The honourees are:

A delegation from the Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Science, Alexandria University, visits the building of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Under the auspices of Dr. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, a delegation from the Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Science visited, today, Monday, February 27, 2023, the building of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting witnessed an introduction to the work mechanisms in the ministry and its various sectors. Many students asked their questions about diplomatic work and the distinctive features of the Egyptian school of diplomacy, which is based on achieving a balance between principles and interests. The most prominent local, regional and international issues of concern to the Egyptian state were also reviewed in light of the extremely dangerous developments. and complexity in the global system.

Dr. Ahmed Wahban, Dean of the College and head of the delegation, indicated that the visit was attended by Dr. Osama Al-Adly, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Sherine Naseer, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Ahmed Sayed, a teacher in the Department of Political Science, along with a group of members of the supporting staff and students of the college. The Dean of the Faculty indicated that a group of gentlemen ambassadors were receiving them, namely, Ambassador Hamdi Loza, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for African Affairs, Ambassador Walid Hajjaj, Director of the Institute of Diplomatic Studies, Ambassador Muhammad Al-Badri, and a group of senior officials of the various departments of the Ministry, and explained that the meeting resulted in confirming the desire The two parties signed a protocol of cooperation between Alexandria University and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in preparation for organizing many joint activities and events.
His Excellency Ambassador Walid Hajjaj expressed the Institute of Diplomatic Studies' welcome to train college students and assist in qualifying them to work in the diplomatic corps.
Maritime Archaeology Centre at Alexandria University Presents First Regional Training Course in Underwater Cultural Heritage
In response to the invitation of the Saudi Heritage Authority and the Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage affiliated to UNESCO, and under the auspices of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Alexandria Centre for Maritime Archaeology and Underwater Cultural Heritage will hold the first Arab training course in the field of underwater antiquities in Jeddah, during the period from February 26 to March 9, hosted by the Saudi Heritage Authority.

Dr. Emad Khalil, Head of the Centre and Professor of the UNESCO Chair for Underwater Cultural Heritage, indicated that this session is attended by 21 trainees from 13 Arab countries, namely Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman. This course is the first of its kind in the Arab region, and it aims to qualify a group of specialists from the Arab world to study marine and submerged archaeological sites. The Arab region has long coastlines and a long history, which is reflected in the presence of hundreds of underwater archaeological sites that await discovery, documentation, and sustainable exploitation.
Community Service and Environmental Development Council Discusses Activities, Training Courses, Awareness Seminars, Research Projects
Dr. Ashraf El-Ghandour, Vice President of Alexandria University for Postgraduate Studies and Researc, and Acting Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, during the meeting of the Council for Community Service and Environmental Development today, Wednesday the 22nd of February, thanked the faculty members and students who participated in the medical convoy that went to the Abu Al-Matamir area, Beheira governorate at the end of last January to alleviate the suffering of the residents of the area, and to provide various medical services, with the participation of 10 doctors from the faculties of medicine, pharmacy and dentistry, and 50 students. The number of cases that were treated reached 804 cases, and they were provided with the necessary medications, and some cases that require medical procedures and special equipment were transferred to the main university hospital.


* The Vice President of the University praised the success of the CPR course, which was carried out in cooperation between the Occupational Safety and Health Sector Committee headed by Dr. Fahmy Charles and the College of Nursing to train workers on it, with an emphasis on its continuation for several times to come.
* The Council approved a memorandum of cooperation between the Faculty of Dentistry and the Directorate of Health Affairs in Alexandria in the field of community participation and the provision of distinguished medical services and joint training programs.

* The Council also approved the cooperation protocol between the Faculty of Science, Alexandria University and the Ministry of Health and Population in the field of developing scientific research, research laboratories, scientific workshops, and others.

* The council reviewed the report submitted by the Faculty of Agriculture on the fact that the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Matrouh University, in partnership with the General Authority for Veterinary Services at the Ministry of Agriculture, visited the dairy and meat project in Abis, on February 8 and 9, 2023, to learn about the stages of breeding, milk production, artificial insemination applications, and the most important diseases and avoiding their transmission between calves.

* The Council also reviewed the report submitted by the Vice-Dean of the Higher Institute of Public Health on a number of seminars, namely, “Awareness Seminar against AIDS and Combating Social Stigma,” a seminar on “How to Choose a Research Topic through the Microsoft Teams Application,” and a report on the institute’s organization of the third charitable market.

* The council also reviewed a number of different activities and courses at the Faculty of Agriculture in Saba Pasha, as follows:
* Service training courses during the mid-year vacation in the faculty's majors to participate in qualifying participation in the labor market.
*Smoking cessation initiative, a symposium on the risks of addiction and introducing psychological behavior, your health is a crown initiative, a symposium on "prevention is better than cure", methods of preventing malignant tumors. The total number of trainees during these courses reached 434 trainees from the universities of Alexandria, Damanhour and Matrouh.
* The council discussed the report submitted by the Faculty of Nursing on its organization of the first cultural salon for mental health, and a report on organizing a visit to the nursing home within the effectiveness of the "Loyalty and Return of Favor" initiative.
* The Council reviewed the report submitted by the Faculty of Early Childhood Education on the symposium "Rumors and their Impact on the Individual and Society"
* The Council approved the research project submitted by Dr. Sobhi Salam, Professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, entitled "Sustainable Production of Environmentally Friendly Products from Agricultural Waste to Maximize the Productivity of Farm Animals and Confront Climate Change."
* The Council approved the research project submitted by Dr. Samir Mahmoud Nasr, Professor Emeritus at the Institute of Postgraduate Studies and Research, entitled "Carrying Out Environmental Monitoring of Coastal Waters in the Mediterranean."





Alexandria University Professional Development Centers Organize First Employment Forum for Students and Graduates
Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the University Centers for Professional Development at Alexandria University are organizing the first employment forum for graduates and senior students in all faculties of Alexandria University, on Sunday the 26th of February, at the Humanities Complex, Faculty of Commerce.

Many Egyptian and international companies, banks, and insurance companies are taking part in the forum, with the aim of providing the largest number of job opportunities and training within these institutions, and having the chance to communicate with the University graduates and students. The forum also helps to create an interactive environment between business owners, students and graduates in line with Egypt's Vision 2030.
