As the General Command of the Armed Forces is keen on exchanging scientific and practical experiences, supporting research activities between the armed forces, universities and various research bodies, and achieving scientific cooperation in various fields, the Military Technical College signed a cooperation protocol with Alexandria University, with the aim of exchanging scientific and practical experiences for scientific research and implementing applied research to support the transfer of and promotion of technology for workshops, research projects and graduate studies, and cooperating in student projects and projects that create a knowledge economy.

Major General Professor Dr. Ismail Mohamed Kamal, Director of the Military Technical College, delivered a speech in which he conveyed to the attendees greetings and appreciation of the First Lieutenant-General/ Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defence and Military Production, and Lieutenant-General/Osama Askar, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, stressing the pleasure of the Military Technical College to cooperate with Alexandria University in the field of academic and research work, and the exchange of experiences and scientific and educational capabilities in the various engineering fields.

Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the General Command of the Armed Forces for its strenuous efforts to support state institutions to achieve the sustainable development strategy, pointing out the vital role of the Military Technical College in supporting joint research work, and providing engineering consultancy services, which in return benefits the Egyptian state.

Under the auspices of H.E. Dr. Nivine El Kabbag, Minister of Solidarity, and Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, Dr. Mohamed Anwar Farrag, Dean of the Faculty of Education, inaugurated a seminar entitled "The Population Issue: A Social Vision, and the (2 are Enough) Program," organized by the Social Solidarity Unit at Alexandria University, in cooperation with the Association of the Strategic Forum for Development and Social Peace in the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Commerce, Alexandria University.
In his speech, Dr. Farrag said that the Egyptian state is making every effort to confront the population problem, which represents one of the most important challenges that impede the development process, pointing out that the National Population Strategy (2015-2030) stated in one of its principles that the population problem in its various dimensions represents a challenge that requires providing an environment that stimulates the participation of NGOs in addressing this problem, which requires voluntary efforts to confront it. He added that Alexandria University implemented a project entitled Mawadda (Affection), through which it was able to raise awareness among 20 thousand students of the basics necessary to form a family and preserve its entity. He also announced that Alexandria University is about to sign an agreement with Alexandria Governorate to organize awareness campaigns for students on the population issue and the harms of the population explosion.
While Dr. Alaa Rizk, head of the Strategic Forum for Development, confirmed in his speech that the Ministry of Social Solidarity, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program, launched an awareness program for community development under the slogan “With awareness, Egypt is changing for the better” in all the governorates, villages and towns targeted by the presidential initiative Haya Karima “A Decent Life”. He explained that the ministry adopts the concept of developing awareness among the most vulnerable groups from an integrated human rights perspective, that enables the targeted families to access all the services due to them by the Egyptian state, with the aim of helping them gradually get out of the cycle of poverty in its various dimensions. He also stated that one of the most important objectives of this program is to adopt the concept of the small family, in order to achieve sustainable development and eliminate unemployment.
Dr. Magda Galala, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Solidarity in Alexandria, indicated that the "Capacity Building of Cadres" program includes 12 societal issues, the most important of which are "the issue of family planning, maternal and child health, and reproductive health."
Dr. Samia Abul-Nasr, Assistant Editor-in-Chief of Al-Ahram Newspaper, explained that the “2 are Enough” project aims to reduce the population increase among families benefiting from the cash support project "Takaful", to achieve one of the goals of the sustainable development plan Egypt 2030, and reduce the rates of population increase to reach the missing balance between them and the economic growth rates, which is considered the most important objective of the "2 are Enough" project.
The seminar was attended by Dr. Ayman Shteiwi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Dr. Hassan Abdeen, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education, the actor Tarek El-Desouky, Dr. Susanna El-Mansi, Ministerial Coordinator of “Waa’i” Awareness Initiative for Community Development, Mr. Ahmed Younes, project coordinator of “2 are Enough” project at the Ministry of Solidarity, in addition to a group of faculty members and students of the faculties of the Humanities & Social Sciences Campus.

Dr. Ashraf El-Ghandour, Vice President of Alexandria University for Graduate Studies and Research, received this morning, Sunday the 6th of November 2022, a visit from the accreditation team of the National Authority for Quality Assurance of Education and Accreditation, to evaluate the Computer Science and Mathematics programs at the Faculty of Science to obtain accreditation. Dr. El-Ghandour confirmed that the university provides all forms of support for the educational process, research, and community service, highlighting the university's role in supporting all research projects in line with the scientific development witnessed by the world.

Dr. Kamal Metwally, Director of the Quality Assurance Center at Alexandria University, stated that the centre provides all forms of technical support to prepare new programs in all the faculties and institutes of the university, to facilitate obtaining accreditation through intensifying workshops and frequent visits.
 
During the visit, the team was accompanied by Dr. Amani Ismail, Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Dr. Amira Hemdan, the visit coordinator.

The President of Alexandria University, Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa participated today, Thursday the 3rd of November 2022, in the educational seminar organized by the university, in cooperation with the Youth Coordination of Political Parties and Politicians, under the title "Climate Action Path from Stockholm to Sharm el-Sheikh" and a panel discussion on the national dialogue, in the presence Dr. Wael Nabil, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, in addition to several members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, deans, vice deans, faculty members and students of different faculties, in the conference hall of the Faculty of Nursing in Smouha.

In his speech, Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa confirmed that the university is working to provide integrated studies to achieve industrial growth and transformation into green industry, referring to COP27 climate conference aim in achieving a balance between growth rates and setting environmental issues as a top priority. He also stressed the importance of the developed countries fulfilling their commitments towards developing countries and helping them to face the effects of climate change. Dr. Konsowa said that Alexandria University is working according to a well-studied strategy that is in line with Egypt's strategic vision for sustainable development 2030 and is capable of facing challenges and achieving international competitiveness.

On their part, Parliament members thanked Alexandria University for hosting seminars and workshops aimed at spreading community awareness of environmental and climate issues, stressing the role of the Youth Coordination in organizing a number of public events, to listen to the youth expressing their opinions, and receiving suggestions and inquiries to be presented to the Parliament and the National Dialogue Table.

Dr. Ashraf El-Ghandour, Vice President of Alexandria University for Graduate Studies and Research, received at the university's headquarters in Shatby, a delegation from Bordeaux University, France, headed by Professor Jean-François Brisson, Honorary Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Science and Director of the MA Euro-Mediterranean Exchange at Bordeaux University, to discuss the aspects of scientific and academic cooperation between the two universities.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed Elfeki, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Alexandria University, officials of the International Relations Office at Alexandria University, and members of the Euro-Mediterranean Office at the Department of International Relations at Bordeaux University.
