Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated artist Alaa El-Basha, a photography specialist at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the university, on winning the "Mozi International Award for Outstanding Photographer" presented by the Jinan International Photography Biennale, organized by the Chinese Ministry of Culture, as part of its tenth session for active artists in the Middle East, Europe and America, wishing him continued success.
 
 
 
 
The Biennale was held under the auspices of the Chinese Ministry of Culture and UNESCO, from October 17 to 27 at Shandong University in the halls of the Arts and Crafts Institute in Jinan Province, eastern China, and witnessed a large participation of international artists, with more than 300 photographers from 20 countries participating, including France, Italy, Greece, Belgium, New Zealand, Hungary, Egypt, Singapore, Indonesia and Oman.
 
 
Artist Alaa El-Basha won the award for his group of photos depicting life on the banks of the Nile. The works were displayed in a group exhibition with 10 Egyptian artists who met with others from China in an event titled “The Nile and the Yellow River”.
 
 
The Egyptian photographers presented works that capture the natural landscapes and details of life on the banks of the Nile and its importance as the lifeline of Egypt, while the Chinese artists presented works that capture the beauty of nature on the Yellow River in China.
 
 
 
It is worth noting that the artist Alaa El-Basha holds a master’s degree in photography and is a doctoral researcher in the philosophy of photography. He holds the position of vice president of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), a fellow of the Royal Photographic Society (RPS), founder of both the Adasa Photography Club and the National Foundation for the Arts (Move). He has participated in many events and art exhibitions at both the local and international levels.

Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, received today, Thursday, November 7, 2024, a Fulbright Commission delegation headed by Dr. Maggie Nassif, Executive Director of the Commission, with the aim of discussing ways of cooperation between Alexandria University and the Commission in research and academic fields of common interest, and introducing Fulbright grants for research and study in the United States of America as well as developing the skills of researchers and faculty members at Alexandria University.
 
 
 
The meeting was attended by the Vice Presidents of the University, Deans and Vice Deans of the Faculties and Institutes of Alexandria University, the University's International Relations Office and the Project Management Unit.
During the meeting, mechanisms for cooperation between Alexandria University and the Fulbright Commission were discussed in many areas, including the exchange of experiences and knowledge between researchers in various fields, implementing joint research projects, programming educational exchange, exchanging students and faculty members between the two sides, developing educational programs, providing joint academic programs, developing the skills of researchers and faculty members, organizing workshops, seminars and conferences, and providing specialized training programs.
 
 
 
 
 
In his speech, Dr. Konsowa stressed that Alexandria University is keen to open areas of academic and research cooperation with international bodies and world universities with advanced international classification, especially considering Alexandria University's endeavour to establish an international branch based on joint programs and dual degrees with major international universities. The university president discussed with the Fulbright delegation how to benefit from the programs offered by the commission in all fields for graduate students, researchers, professionals and faculty members, and mechanisms for cooperation in scientific and academic fields of common interest, including medical, engineering, arts, architecture, nursing, information technology, humanities, law and entrepreneurship.
 
 
Dr. Maggie Nassif stressed the depth of relations between Alexandria University and the Fulbright Commission due to the distinguished reputation enjoyed by Alexandria University at the international level, praising the university's role in caring about developing scientific research, improving the quality of the educational process and constantly striving to develop the human element and keep pace with global scientific developments in various specializations. She also reviewed many new opportunities and grants provided to professors and researchers to conduct research in the United States of America in various fields.

Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, received, on Monday afternoon, November 4, 2024, the review team from the American company GIC, which grants various ISO certificates, headed by Engineer Amr El-Helw, Chief Reviewer, after the team had verified the implementation of the international specification over two days by examining documents, field visits and interviews in the various university departments, for the third consecutive review, and to verify the continuity of the implementation of the ISO 9001/2015 international specification within the various university departments previously granted to the university in 2022.
 
 
 
The closing session was attended by Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Hesham Saeed, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Assistant Secretaries, Quality Team, General Managers, Department Directors, Quality Department Coordinators and University Staff.
 
 
 
 
During his speech, Dr. Konsowa thanked all Alexandria University affiliates for their efforts to obtain the third renewal of the ISO certificate through the teamwork system, which is the sustainable system for continuing development to place the prestigious Alexandria University in the position it deserves. He also thanked the visiting team headed by Engineer Amr El-Helw. Dr. Konsowa stressed that the human element is the real wealth within Alexandria University, noting that a package of training courses will be organized for employees of the university's administrative structure during the coming period with the aim of preparing cadres capable of bearing the burden of management in the future. He added that the university is working hard to create resources through which it can achieve job satisfaction for all university affiliates. He also referred to the university's efforts to improve the quality of the educational and research processes, establish many dual and joint degrees, establish several international branches for Alexandria University, and other measures taken by Alexandria University to achieve excellence and become a governed university with sustainable global competitiveness.
 
 
 
 
Engineer Amr El-Helw, the Senior Auditor, explained that the audit was conducted according to the agreed upon agenda, as the visit lasted for two days with the attendance of four auditors, and the quality documents were reviewed, various departments were visited, and meetings were held with university officials.
 
 
 
 
Dr. Kamal Metwally, Supervisor of the Quality Assurance Department at the University, explained that this visit was preceded by the preparation and qualification of the university departments according to the international standard ISO 9001/2015, under the supervision and follow-up of Dr. Abdelaiz Konsowa, President of the University, and the Assistant Secretaries, as the Quality Assurance Department assisted the quality team by disseminating and following up on the application of the standard to the various departments of the university.
 
 
 
 
At the end of the meeting, the University President had an open discussion with the attendees to listen to their vision and ideas for the progress of the university.
 
 
 
 
 
It is worth noting that the university obtained the ISO 9001/2008 certificate in May 2015, and the certificate was renewed for the years 2016, 2017, and as of 2018, it was granted according to the new ISO 9001/2015 specification, which was renewed for another year until November 2025.

In continuation of Alexandria University's active participation in the presidential initiative for human development “Bedaya: A New Beginning for Building the Human Being”, and under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, headed by Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, launched at Friday, the 1st of November 2024, a combined convoy to Khorshid area in eastern Alexandria to provide medical, therapeutic and social services to the villagers, with the participation of a number of university faculties in all medical, community and service specialties.
 
 
 
Dr. Tamer Abdallah, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development and Rapporteur of the University's Convoys Committee, pointed out that the total number of cases that were examined reached 546 cases in various medical specialties, explaining that the Faculty of Dentistry participated through its mobile clinic in examining a number of residents, the Faculty of Pharmacy provided free medicines to patients, and a number of cases were transferred to the main university hospital to complete treatment. The participating team from the Faculty of Nursing also conducted blood sugar and blood pressure measurements, early screening for breast cancer, and provided advice to residents about proper nutrition for children. The delegation from the Higher Institute of Public Health participated in a group of health education and awareness activities that targeted women and children from the region's residents, where lectures were given on ways to deal psychologically with children during the school entry period, the importance of healthy balanced food and family planning methods, ways to maintain an ideal weight, and the importance of exercising. The Anti-Violence Against Women Unit at the university also presented a workshop to raise comprehensive awareness for women and children through a group of recreational awareness segments.
