President of Alexandria University Congratulates Lieutenant General Ahmed Khaled on Being Appointed Governor of Alexandria
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated Lieutenant General Ahmed Khaled, Governor of Alexandria, on Sunday, July 7, 2024, on assuming his new position as Governor of the Bride of the Mediterranean, at the governorate headquarters in Abis region, wishing him high status and continued success and progress. Dr. Konsowa headed the University delegation that included Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Hisham Saeed, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Walid Abdelazim, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
During the meeting, Dr. Konsowa said that Alexandria University will harness all its capabilities, potential and human energy to serve the governorate and help its progress, noting that the university, in cooperation with the governorate, is designing and supervising the implementation of many of its development projects located on the land of Alexandria Governorate. He added that Alexandria University has visions for studies and projects that can be used in development and service projects and future planning for the governorate in order to advance and progress.
For his part, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khaled thanked the President of Alexandria University and the accompanying delegation for their congratulations, stressing the need to enhance cooperation between the governorate and the university in various fields, as it is the scientific arm and the first house of expertise for the governorate through what it does in providing scientific consultations and expertise to the governorate in all fields.

Alexandria University and Sadat City University Sign Cooperation Protocol in Engineering Consultancy
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, and Dr. Shaden Moawia, Acting President of Sadat City University, signed a cooperation protocol between the two universities in the field of engineering consulting.
The protocol was signed in the presence of Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President of Alexandria University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Sherif Mohamed Ali, Vice President of Sadat City University for Education and Students Affairs, Major General Amr Allam, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Representative of Care Contracting Company and Representative of the National Service Authority, Dr. Essam Wahba, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Alexandria University, and Dr. Walid Abdelazim, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs at Alexandria University.
Dr. Konsowa pointed out that the protocol included the Engineering Centre at Alexandria University reviewing the design studies and structural and architectural designs for the works being implemented and preparing design studies for new buildings that Sadat City University may need, and periodically supervising the implementation of the projects, constructions, buildings and infrastructure networks it needs.
Dr. Shaden Moawia stressed that this cooperation is due to the scientific value and technical expertise of Alexandria University, which qualifies it to carry out the tasks assigned to it through this protocol, explaining that it was agreed to form a joint committee from both sides to work on strengthening, developing and advancing cooperation, coordinating between them, and exploring prospects for cooperation in various fields and working to resolve and overcome any obstacles.




Cooperation Protocol between Alexandria University and General Syndicate of Lawyers in Areas of Common Interest
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, and Mr. Abdelhalim Allam, President of the Egyptian Lawyers Syndicate, signed, a joint cooperation protocol with the aim of exchanging services, training and scientific consultations between the two parties in the field of legal sciences, and related studies through all scientific, research and training activities.

The signing of the protocol was witnessed by Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Hisham Saeed, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Mohamed El-Feki, Dean of the Faculty of Law.

In his speech, Dr. Konsowa stressed that the protocol aims to assist researchers and students from the lawyers registered with the syndicate and their families in the field of legal and economic studies by providing references, scientific journals and all available capabilities, overcoming any difficulties they may face in this field, and achieving scientific communication between students, trainees and experts by exchanging studies and experiences in areas of common interest between the university and the syndicate, in addition to developing aspects of cooperation between the two sides in all fields, especially legal fields.
Dr. Konsowa added that the protocol will allow benefiting from the human and specialized capabilities in academic, training and research fields available to both parties by organizing conferences, seminars, workshops and training courses, noting that there will be an exchange of academic output such as periodicals, studies, reports, research, journals, and scientific bulletins between the two parties. He added that under this protocol, a joint committee from the university and the syndicate will be formed to coordinate between them regarding the implementation of the provisions of this protocol and the development of executive plans for joint activities and the proposal of programs, activities, and various other events.
Mr. Abdelhalim Allam confirmed that the protocol will allow for the exchange and provision of the legal library of both parties with the most important legal books, encyclopaedias, academic research papers, and legal references, in addition to providing each party with the opportunity to access their respective electronic platforms, and view research, academic papers, and various publications. Allam added that the protocol will also allow cooperation in conducting joint research and studies and preparing working papers in order to contribute to the development of the legal culture of both parties. He pointed out that all means of assistance will be provided to lawyers registered with the syndicate in applying for specialized educational and research programs in the Master’s and Doctorate degrees.
Alexandria University SPE student chapter wins the SPE Presidential Award 2024 for community involvement
The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE International) announced that The SPE student chapter at Alexandria University has won the SPE Presidential Award 2024 for community involvement. The award recognizes chapters whose programs, activities, and levels of participation distinguish them from other chapters and recognizes the highest-ranked 10% of eligible student chapters that are exemplary in the scoring categories.
The winning chapters will be recognized during the President's Luncheon at the SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition in September 2024 in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is worth noting that Alexandria University SPE student chapter was also awarded the Presidential Award in 2023 and the Excellence Award in 2022.
Alexandria University celebrates the anniversary of the June 30 Revolution with student visits to several military sites
In commemoration of the June 30 Revolution, the Department of Military Education and the General Administration of Youth Welfare - Alexandria University, organized a series of student visits to a group of military institutions during the month of June, with the aim of enhancing understanding and introducing Egypt’s military history and its role in shaping the country’s future.
The tour included a visit to the Military Medical Complex in Maadi, the Military Museum in Cairo, and the Janaklis Air Base.
During the visit, the students learned about the role of the Military Medical Complex in Maadi in providing health care to soldiers and their families, in addition to the medical services it provides to civilians. The complex provided the students with an overview of the medical facilities and services available to the armed forces, and they visited a number of those injured in military operations, and the students saw a large collection of artifacts. And military documents and memorabilia in the Military Museum, which shed light on Egypt’s rich military history and its contributions to regional and global peacekeeping efforts. The students also learned about the role of the Ginacles Air Base in Alexandria, and the daily operations of the Egyptian Air Force. The students took a comprehensive tour inside the base, including its aircraft and radar systems. And command centers.
These visits provided the opportunity for students to communicate with members of the army, learn about the country’s military heritage, and the daily life of soldiers. The visits were welcomed and appreciated by the students, who praised the university’s efforts in promoting patriotism and pride in it.
