Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, received a French delegation consisting of representatives of the Government of the Southern Province of France, the University of Corsica, and the Horizons Solidarités Foundation, to discuss the last details and coordination to operate the Digital Fab Lab at the Faculty of Engineering, to serve the innovators and creators among all university students.
 
 
During the meeting, Dr. Konsowa praised the cooperation with the French side, which is in line with the university's strategy to cooperate with prestigious international universities and scientific institutions. He stressed the importance of this advanced laboratory in providing an innovative educational and empirical environment for students to learn and interact with technology and creativity in the fields of design and digital industry. He added that it will also assist them in designing and manufacturing products themselves using digital and advanced industry technologies, transform their ideas into reality, discover and develop their capabilities in the field of digital design and manufacturing, and encourage their innovation and creativity.
 
 
Dr. Ziyad El-Sayyad, associate professor at the Faculty of Engineering, main researcher, and project coordinator, indicated that the Fab Lab project at the Faculty of Engineering is funded by the Government of the Southern Region in France, with the aim of cooperation in establishing an advanced laboratory for digital manufacturing and plastic recycling at the Faculty of Engineering, which is now being equipped.
 
 
The French side appreciated the existing cooperation, stressing the possibility of continuing this cooperation in the future to include other projects in the fields of heritage preservation and development, sustainability, and environmental issues.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Ghada El-Khayyat, Director of the Centre for Educational Innovations and Distance Learning at the University, Dr. Walid Abdelazim, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Dr. Reem Abdelhamid, Professor at the Higher Institute of Public Health.

Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, announced the issuance of republican decisions yesterday, Saturday, to appoint university leaders. These decisions included the appointment of Dr. Mohamed Anwar Farrag, Dean of the Faculty of Education, and Dr. Hani Khamis, Dean of the Faculty of Arts.
The President of the University congratulated the new deans, wishing them success in their duties and advancing their faculties scientifically and practically.

The Alexandria University Council, headed by Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, honoured on its meeting, the team of students of the Faculty of Law at Alexandria University, who won the second place in the “Arab Moot Court” competition in its ninth edition, which was recently held in the State of Kuwait, under the auspices of Kuwait International Law School.
 
 
In his speech, Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa extended his thanks and appreciation to the Kuwait International Law School for the distinguished efforts it made during this competition. He also thanked the administration of the Faculty of Law, Alexandria University, indicating that Alexandria University always seeks to develop educational curricula, use modern technologies, and focus on continuous training to have highly efficient alumni with creativity and innovation.

While Dr. Mohamed El-Feky explained that the Arab Moot Court is a scientific legal competition that brings together students of law schools in the Arab world annually for scientific competition on a hypothetical case, through which students are trained on how to write legal notes and plead before a committee of arbitrators with the aim of honing legal talents and work on the excellence of the participating students through the exchange of experiences and different cultures. He pointed out that the team of the Faculty of Law, Alexandria University, started the national qualifiers stage since last December, which ended with winning the first place, and then went through several stages of the qualifiers, in which 23 universities representing 13 Arab countries participated in the competition. This competition, which is one of the most prominent legal competitions in the Arabic language, ended with the Alexandria University team winning the second place after a strong match.

Under the auspices of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Higher Institute of Public Health will commence the activities of its tenth international conference next Sunday morning, the 27th of November. This conference is organized in collaboration with the World Health Organization (Eastern Mediterranean Office), and Save the Children International UN organization. It will be held under the title "Telehealth", and its activities will last for two days.
 
Dr. Heba El-Kady, Dean of the Institute and President of the Conference, indicated that the conference is attended by a group of college professors from universities in Egypt and the Arab world who are interested in the field of public health, as well as several speakers from Africa, Europe, and America, in addition to some online participations. She added that the conference is presenting through its sessions new visions of public health in the third millennium, as well as many aspects of the concept of telehealth, its present and future, the role it plays in emergencies and its advantages and disadvantages. She pointed out that the international conference will devote several sessions to discuss the recommendations of the Climate Summit (COP 27), where the most important of these recommendations will be discussed, and the various theses adopted by Egypt and the world will be presented. Panel discussions will be held to discuss the latest advances in the field, as well as a special session on heart diseases and their prevention, and what is new in cardiology.

 

 

Recently, the first activities of the second cultural season of the Institute of Mediterranean Studies at the Faculty of Arts began, under the auspices of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, and under the supervision of Dr. Hani Khamis, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Sahar Sharif, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Mohamed Omar, Director of the Institute of Mediterranean Studies, where a lecture was held under the title "Alexandria Port between Reality and Hope", in which Mr. Naval General A.H. gave a lecture. Abdel Qader Darwish, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Group for Multi-Purpose Stations, reviewed the history of the establishment of the Alexandria Port since ancient times, the importance and centrality of the port to Egypt and the Mediterranean basin, and stressed the need to develop the port in light of the increasing demand for maritime transport services and the steady population increase and the need to keep pace with The latest maritime transport strategies and services in light of the comprehensive development plan for the Egyptian economy. He also reviewed the achievements that have already been achieved, including linking Alexandria and Dekheila ports to the reconstruction axis, as well as the construction of a multi-storey garage and others that have already been implemented. He also talked about the medium-term plan for developing the port, including the container terminal and the center. Logistic and industrial.
The lecture was followed by an open discussion with the attendees, in which the speaker touched on various topics related to the port of Alexandria, as well as maritime transport in Egypt and the eastern Mediterranean in general, pointing to the job and economic opportunities that transport projects will provide for Alexandrian youth and Egyptians.
The symposium was moderated by Dr. Amani Suleiman, assistant professor at the Institute of Mediterranean Studies. At the end of the symposium, Dr. Hani Khamis Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty honored the honorable guest and handed him the faculty’s shield, a certificate of appreciation and the Diamond Jubilee Book of Alexandria University in honor of his efforts and his distinguished national career in the military and civil fields alike.
