A delegation from the United States Agency for International Development in Egypt, headed by Ms. Leslie Reid, Director of the Agency, visited the Faculty of Engineering - Alexandria University. Egyptian public universities, and aims to train students and university graduates to bridge the gap between university education and the needs of the labor market and industry.

The delegation included Acting Director of the Education and Health Office Robert Powers, Director of Information Hector Gonzolas, Ms. Wafaa El-Adawy - Project Director of the US Agency for International Development, Ms. Maha Fakhry - Executive Director of the Project at the American University, and Ms. Dina Gohari - Deputy Project Director. The delegation was received by the delegation. From Alexandria University, Prof. Dr. Said Allam - in charge of running the work of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Essam Wahba - Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Tamer Helmy - Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Ms. Dr. Dina Saadallah - Director of the Center College professional development.

During the visit, Prof. Said Allam stressed the importance of cooperation between the two sides, stressing the main role of the center in preparing students according to the requirements of the labor market, and providing training courses on employability and entrepreneurship skills, which increases the ability of our students to compete in obtaining distinguished job opportunities.

The Director of the US Agency for International Development followed the activities of the center during the visit and expressed her admiration for the students' awareness, vision, and enthusiasm for the courses. She also expressed the importance of the project, which in the past three years established eighteen centers in eleven universities in ten governorates from Alexandria to Aswan, and praised the team's capacity-building programs Work at the center to be qualified and able to provide professional guidance services to university students, which contributes to the sustainability of the center and the services it provides.

Prof. Dr. Hani Khamis Ahmed Abdo, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University, recently honored the students of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature for their outstanding participation in the competition organized by the Chinese Consulate in Alexandria entitled “Getting to know China, the Spring Festival meeting the Winter Olympics in Beijing”, in which about 20 students from the Chinese language department, they are:
1- First prize winner: Nada Ahmed Mostafa
2- Winner of the second prize: Yasmine Sharif
3- Third Prize Winner: Omar Osama
4- Winner of the Most Popular Work Award: Yara Ahmed, Radwa Mahmoud
5- Winner of the Innovative Work Award: Abdullah Tariq
The honoring was attended by Dr. Hossam Al-Abbadi, the academic supervisor of the department, and Mrs. Dina Muhammad Adel, the assistant teacher in the department.

Within the framework of Alexandria University’s keenness to activate its role in serving community and making efforts to support its alumni in the labour market, and the keenness of the Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Sciences to build the scientific capabilities of economics and political science alumni in order to contribute to the knowledge renaissance and comprehensive development, and under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the faculty organized the second employment forum for its students at the faculty’s headquarters in Smouha area. Participants included over 30 entities of interest to the graduates, representing private companies, agencies, banks, research and decision-making support centers, and a group of ministries as well as press and media institutions.

Dr. Ahmed Wahban, Dean of the Faculty, indicated that the forum included several introductory lectures on the various participating sectors, as well as lectures on building a career path and developing skills. On the sidelines of the forum, several seminars and workshops were held at the faculty’s conference hall that addressed important topics related to youth, the most prominent of which was an introductory seminar on small and medium-sized projects that are launched by the Alexandria Businessmen Association. The seminar was presented by Dr. Sherif Shoman, the association’s representative.

The conference was supervised by Dr. Mohamed El-Khatib - Economics lecturer at the faculty and Executive Director of the Labour Market Training and Qualification Unit. The opening was attended by Dr. Osama El-Adly, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Ali Abdelwahab Naga, Professor of Economics at the faculty, and a group of distinguished faculty members, the supporting staff, and executives concerned with entrepreneurship, as well as many entrepreneurs, owners of institutions and projects, representatives of civil society organizations, media representative s, and hundreds of faculty graduates, researchers, and students.

The mission of the Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University, succeeded in uncovering the bow of the shipwrecked on the island of Saadana in the Red Sea, which had been found, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities on April 11, 2021.
Dr. Abdelaziz konsowa, President of the University, confirmed that this is a great achievement to be added to the Egyptian state, and reflects the uniqueness of Egypt and the diversity of its effects from the rest of the world, indicating that this discovery was made by pure Egyptian hands from Alexandria University children, which confirms that Egypt has qualified and distinguished scientific cadres
