The 34th art gallery of AU Scout teams
Prof. Dr. Essam El-Kurdi, the President of Alexandria University emphasized the importance of student activities in building and development of youth personality. He explained that the university puts the diversity of student activities at highest priorities to provide suitable activities programs for the students.
Dr. Essam opened the 34th art gallery of scout teams in the university on Sunday, 12 February 2017 where he expressed his concern for the participation of the largest number of students in various activities which is an essential part of the university life.
Prof. Dr. Hisham Gaber, AU Vice President for education and students Affairs indicated that the opening ceremony started with standing a minute of silence for the souls Noweiba bus victims. He said that Scout teams from 15 faculties are participating in the gallery in addition to a delegation from Matroh branch.
The gallery is held in the Faculty of Science for 7 days in which four artistic workshops and exhibitions of competing faculties will be held.
Dr. Gaber indicated that participating works in the gallery will be judged the results will be announced.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Deans, Deputies, faculty members, and supervisors of student activities in the university.

Alexandria University studies steps to establish center for detecting scientific plagiarism
The Council of Graduate Studies and Research at Alexandria University during its session held recently headed by Dr. Hisham Gabr; AU Vice President revised the study submitted by Dr. Mustafa El-Naggar; the Deputy of the Faculty of Science. The study is discussing ways of plagiarism detection in researches and theses and establishing AU center for scientific plagiarism detection.

The Council of Graduate Studies and Research at Alexandria University during its session held recently headed by Dr. Hisham Gabr, AU Vice President approved the renewal of the memorandum of understanding between Alexandria University and shanghai University for International Studies in China.
"El-Kurdi": university hospitals provide 80% of the health service in Alexandria
Prof. Dr. Essam El-Kurdi, President of Alexandria University declared that the university is preparing a future vision of the university hospitals through the Medical Council of the university to achieve integration in the medical system and coordination between all concerned bodies in the medical sector and improving the service and health care of patient. He indicated that university hospitals provide 80% of the health service in Alexandria governorate and by-side governorates. This came in a meeting with the Faculty Council of Pharmacy to discuss the development of study programs and curricula and the possibility of establishing new programs. The meeting was attended by Dr. Hisham Gaber, vice-president of AU for Education and Student Affairs and Dr. Ivan Ibrahim the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
The Rector listened to opinions and suggestions of the faculty members on how to develop the education and research in the faculty and to support the faculty role in medicine industry in Egypt. He added that the university is currently formulating a plan to install study rooms and auditoriums on university land in Smouha with a capacity up to 3000 students that can be used for all university faculties in order to reduce the density and in the light of considering 2017 as the development year for curricula in AU.
Dr. El-Kurdi also opened the medicine preparation laboratory which is designed to test the biological activity of some chemical compounds by computer prior to being engineered in the lab. The new laboratory is equipped with 25 computers to serve undergraduates in addition to three computers for postgraduate students. The Rector accompanied by vice-president of the university dean of the faculty visited the scientific complex of pharmaceutical research and research labs.
