Alexandria University international conference II will be held during the period from 26 to 28 July 2017, under the title "Integration of knowledge and innovation: A Way Forward", within the framework of university celebrations of its diamond jubilee (1942-2017).

A selection of researchers and professors from Egyptian, Arab and foreign universities will participate in the conference.The conference will discuss following topics; the concept of human knowledge and its components, cognitive integration and scientific research, language and information: integration or contradiction, knowledge integration and communication technology, knowledge integration in the service of society, knowledge integration and current challenges, Egypt personality: knowledge and the challenges of progress, knowledge integration and innovation after the globalization, and finally knowledge integration in the field of biotechnology.

The university will receive the contributions of faculty members on conference topicswith abstractfor each research not more than 250 words. The abstractson a CD to be sent to the office of AU vice-president for community Service Environment Development (Department of Communications and Conferences)and another soft copy to be sent via the email address This email address is being protected from spambots. Alexandria University President Dr. Essam El-Kurdi has recently signed a cooperation protocol with the President of the National Council for Women Dr. Maya Morsi. The protocol objective is to support scientific research with regard to women and the dissemination of the culture of attention to her scientific, health and social activities in addition to preparing programs, scientific researches, training courses, workshops and conferences to protect the women and ensure their freedoms. 

Dr. Essam El-Kurdi praised the efforts of the National Council of Women to support the women, pointing out the importance of 2017 as the year of the Egyptian Woman. He emphasized AU support to all areas concerning the woman indicating that the protocol signed today is the first protocol in all Egyptian universities for cooperation with the National Council of Women. 

Dr. Maya Morsi, stressed on the role of the university the activation of the articles of the Constitution which provides support for the women to take their socially and politically rights. 

Alexandria University President Dr. Essam El-Kurdi has recently received the Rotary District Governor Mayan Raslan and the accompanied delegation to coordinate and provide support to variousyouth activities and organizing training courses for university students during in the weekend, as well as literacy activities and Joint medical convoys.

Dr.Kurdi indicated that Alexandria University through the Entrepreneurship Center aims at the rehabilitation of youth for the labor market with necessary skills. He referred to the possibility of developing joint programs with Rotary Club Unionfor this purpose.

Dr. Raslandeclared about preparing a cooperation protocol between the two sides for the rehabilitation of youth to be habilitated for participation and leadership in society development.
The meeting was attended by Dr.HishamGaber, AU Deputy for Education and Students affairs and Dr. Ahmad Othman;Dean of the faculty of medicine.

Prof. Dr. Essam El-Kurdi, President of Alexandria  University has recently Received  the delegation of Ningxia University headed by Professor Mat sungBao;the university Vice-President for Graduate Studies. The visit cameaims to enhance cooperation in academic and scientific fields, establishment of the department of Chinese language in the Faculty of Arts and preparing the laboratory of languages to support Chinese language teaching in addition to providing knowledge sources on the Chinese language and literature by allow students to use the digital library Ningxia University.

During the meeting,Prof. Dr.Essam El-Kurdi welcomed the cooperation with Ningxia University and emphasized AU readiness to receive professors to teach Chinese language in the Faculty of Arts, through a special study program that will begin next September, as well as hosting 24 Chinese students to study Arabic language.

Prof. Dr. Hisham Gaber, Vice-President of the University for Education and Students affairs stated that initiating the Chinese language program in the Faculty of Arts is one of the strategic directions of Alexandria University of openness towards the international universities. He also stressed that AU is keen on expandingstudent exchange and increasing the exchange of faculty members and researchers in scientific fields of common interest 

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ismail Abdo, AU Vice-President for Matroh branch affairs raised the importance of finding a solution for the problems of water, energy and food shortage facing Egypt during the coming years through scientific research. 
That came during a speech at the international conference on water, energy and food, organized by the Faculty of Engineering on 8th of February 2017 at Alexandria Bibliotheca. This conference is one of the conferences of Tempus project funded by the European Union under title "TriNex" with 9 universities and international bodies and Alexandria Bibliotheca.

Dr. Ismail added that Egypt suffers from water shortage due to the misuse of water because of irrigation with traditional methods. In the area of energy,he indicated that Egypt gets ready to be natural gas producer, but we must concentrate on renewable energy sources such as solar energy and wind energy what are known as clean energy because of eliminating emissions and climatic changes. 
In regard to the problem of food shortage and food security, Dr. Ismail said that it represents one of the economic challenges that increased recently because of the large increase in population and reduction of cultivated land area as a result of desertification, salinization and climatic changes. He also emphasizedAU full support to the Conference through plans, research projects and researchers in this vitally important area.
