Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, and Dr. Hisham Gaber, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, met with the French Ambassador in Cairo, Mr. Stefan Romatier, Mrs. Janina Herrera, the French Consul in Alexandria, and Mrs. Maya Al-Ramli, University Cooperation Coordinator at the French Institute in Egypt, where he discussed The two parties, during the meeting, expand joint educational programs in various scientific fields and disciplines, including medicine, engineering, literature, arts, business administration, law, agriculture and education, in the presence of Dr. Ibrahim Rehab, the university president's advisor for African affairs, Dr. Sameh Shehata, supervisor of the Office of International Relations at Alexandria University, and deans of faculties Literature, Law, Commerce, Education, Medicine, Agriculture, and the French program officials in these faculties.

The Alexandria University Council, in its session chaired by Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, approved the list submitted by the faculty of Medicine to award a joint degree for the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery between the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University and the faculty of Medical Sciences at Manchester University in Britain, and this program is considered the first joint program in the field of education Medical school in the Middle East region with an international university of this size, and the list has been sent to the Supreme Council of Universities and awaiting the issuance of the ministerial decision to approve it.

Academic Requirements:

Bachelor Degree from an accredited Higher Education Institution (SCU equivalency is required for degrees from non-governmental Egyptian Educational Institutions) with minimum CGPA 3.0/4.0 or established equivalent.

Applicants from non-management backgrounds will need to first enroll and complete the non-credit foundation course Management Appreciation Program (MAP)

CGPA Conditional Admission

Conditional acceptance may be granted for applicant with minimum CGPA 2.5-2.99/4.0 or its established equivalent. Such a student must meet the following requirements during the period of conditional admission for be subject to dismissal:

·         Take a maximum of 9 credit hours of courses studied for the graduate program during the period of conditional admission

·         Must achieve a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or its established equivalent, in these nine credits of courses studied for the graduate program

English language requirements:

The Applicant must obtain a TOEFL score of 550 PBT (Paper Based Test), 79 iBT (Internet Based Test), or IELTS score of 6.0.

English Conditional Admission:

Conditional acceptance may be granted for applicant with TOEFL scores of 530 PBT, 71 iBT, 197 CBT, or 5.5 IELTS. Such a student must meet the following requirements during the period of conditional admission for be subject to dismissal:

·         must achieve the language requirements by the end of the learner’s first semester of study;

·         may take a maximum of 6 credit hours in the first semester of study, not including intensive English courses

·         must achieve a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or its established equivalent, in the first six credit hours of credit-bearing courses studies for the master program

Duration of       Study:

36 Credit Hours (three Semesters)

Delivery Mode:

Blended learning (50% On-Campus face-to-face Lectures and 50% self-paced learning through online material)

Dr. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, received Ambassador Surybia Camara, Ambassador of Guinea Conakry, in the presence of Dr. Hisham Gaber, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Ibrahim Rehab, Advisor to the President of the University for African Affairs, and Dr. Wael Nabil, Dean of the Faculty Medicine, Dr. Saeed Allam, Dean of the faculty of Engineering, and Dr. Mosaad Zain El-Din, Dean of the faculty of Agriculture, to discuss consolidating cooperation ties between the two sides, activating the cooperation agreement signed between the two sides to exchange experiences, faculty members, and joint development research between the two countries, as well as continuing to send medical to serve The Guinean Community.

During the meeting, Dr. Konsowa affirmed the university’s keenness to cooperate with Kenyan universities, pointing to the fruitful cooperation with the University of Moi, Kenya, which has spanned more than 10 years.
