Amendment to the administrative and financial regulation of the International Program at "Medicine" to allow opportunity for all nationalities
The Council of Graduate Studies and Research of Alexandria University, the headed by Prof. Dr. Seddik Abdel Salam has recently adopted a proposal to amend the administrative and financial regulation of the International Program at Faculty of Medicine to include postgraduate programs within the current program in order to allow chances for various nationalities to complete their studies in the faculty. This came in accordance with university policy of increasing educational services and higher education opportunities for surrounding countries and attracting foreign students to study at the university.
The Council also adopted the new established Postgraduate Program (International resident doctor & International Fellowship) in the International and the French Program at Faculty of Medicine.
The Council also adopted the cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Medicine and El Salamah Hospital in Kuwait to exchange experiences, cooperation and training in the medical field.
The Council also approved the draft of cooperation protocol between the Faculty of Education at Alexandria University (French Language Section) and the French Institute in Egypt for cooperation to hold workshops and continuous training aiming to improve the level of French Language of students.
Costing 40 million EGP…. Alexandria University President inaugurates 14 new research lab
President of Alexandria University Dr. Rushdy Zahran inaugurated the new laboratories of medical research center in the Faculty of Medicine with total cost of 40 million EGP and funded by the faculty, university hospitals, governmental research projects and Science and Technological Development Fund (STDF). The new labs include, Genome lab, Protiumlab, atomic absorption lab, chromatography laboratory and many others.
In his speech Dr. Rushdy Zahran underlined the importance of establishing new research laboratories and developing the existing ones as well as continuous follow-up for its performance and its impact on the research process.
Prof. Dr. Seddik Abdel Salam, Vice-President of the university for Graduate Studies and Research stressed on providing the necessary facilities for scientific research in addition to work as a group. He also stated university concern on research that are compatible with the research strategy in Alexandria University and serve the issues of development.
Dr. Ibrahim Mukhles, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine declared that the new laboratories will support the faculty role in education and scientific research and the patient service. The Rector, deputies and the dean also inaugurated the new playground complex of the faculty.
September 30, 2016... Deadline to apply for Czech scholarships
Dr. Sedeek Abdul Salam, Vice President of Alexandria University for Graduate Studies and Research pointed to the statement of the Supreme Council of Universities on scholarships provided by the Czech government; note that the deadline to apply is September 30, 2016.
”Abdul Salam" said that the Czech government granted the Arab Republic of Egypt 3 scientific grants in the following disciplines:
(Economy - Commerce - Computers and information - Agriculture - Energetics – Environment)

Alexandria University among the top 1,000 universities, according to the world university rankings
The Center of World University Rankings declared the improvement of Alexandria University in the world university rankings where it became in the 995 place among more than 25,000 university and scientific institution of higher education institutions in the world and the fourth locally, and thus become part of the proportion of the 4% of the best universities in the world which is an outstanding achievement.
Dr. Rushdi Zahran, president of the university confirmed that this assessment is based on independent research by the center for measuring the quality of education and training of students and faculty members, the level of scientific research and graduate recruitment, the number of graduates who have held senior positions in international institutions and research published worldwide and its percentage in scientific references.
Scholarships from the Government of Shanghai
Dr. Sedeek Abdul Salam, Vice President of Alexandria University for Graduate Studies and Research, announced for scholarships from the Shanghai government for graduate students.
