Cooperation protocol between the Faculty of Engineering and Ameriya Cement Company
Since Alexandria University firmly believes in the importance of linking scientific research and industry, Dr. Rushdi Zahran, President of Alexandria University signed the protocol of cooperation between the Faculty of Engineering and Ameriya Cement company with Eng. Mohamed Al Nokaly; Deputy of the Governing Council of Ameriya Cement Company on Monday, 21 December 2015. The two parties agreed to provide annual training opportunities in the summer for prominent students and the company will offer an annual prize for the best graduation projects for in the fields of cement and concrete and also it will organize educational site visits to Ameriya Cement Factory for in the final year students.
The two parties also agreed that the company will sponsor scientific conferences in the Faculty of Engineering, through participation in associated exhibitions and to sponsor annual graduation ceremonies and recruitment fairs as well as to announce inside the faculty for vacant positions and available jobs available in the company..
Prof. Dr. Rushdy Zahran expressed his appreciation for this good initiative and wishing to expand the scope of cooperation between the university and industrial institutions to create joint projects that shall serve the society inside and outside Egypt. He indicated that this joint cooperation is a model for other faculties to follow. He added that the State recognizes the role of scientific research and education in achieving progress and development, stressing the need for activating scientific research with a target of helping the industry and national economy and to find solutions to industrial troubleshooting.
The signature of the agreement was attended by Prof. Dr. Essam Kurdy; Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environment Development, Prof. Dr. Abdel Aziz Konswah; Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Magdi Abdel Azim, Deputy of the Faculty of Engineering for Graduate Studies and Research and Mr. Martin Esasa; Deputy of the Governing Council of Ameriya Cement Company for production and operations.
Dr. Rushdi Zahran attended the graduation ceremony for a new batch of Chinese students studying Arabic language
Rushdi Zahran, President of Alexandria University has recently attended the graduation ceremony for a new batch of Chinese students studying Arabic language in the Faculty of Arts. The ceremony was attended by a high-level Chinese delegation including the President of Ningxia University, Dean of the Faculty of Arabic Studies in Ningxia University and the General Consul of China in Alexandria.
The two sides stressed their desire to consolidate a strong links between Egypt and China and underlined the need to strengthen the relations through the student exchange between the two universities in fields of applied sciences and cooperation to establish a department of Chinese Language in the Applied languages Institute of the Faculty of Arts.
The celebration was attended by Prof. Dr. Seddik Abdul Salam, Vice President of Alexandria University for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. DR. Essam Kurdi; University Deputy for Community Service and Environment Development, Dr. Hesham Gaber; University Deputy for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Abbas Soliman; Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Prof. Dr. Nivine Khaled; Faculty Deputy for Graduate Studies and Research in addition to faculty members of the faculty.
9th of January is the start date of first term exams in Alexandria University
The Council of Education and Students Affairs in Alexandria University during its session held on Monday , 21 December 2015 and headed by Dr. Hesham Gaber; the University Deputy for Education and Students Affairs emphasized on all faculties to provide all facilities to ensure a smooth operation of the first term exams that shall be start on 9 January2016 until 28 January 2016 in a suitable atmosphere. He also on stressed on safety procedures in all university facilities and buildings and to provide medical services to face any sudden cases during of the exams period.
"The Supreme Council for Universities" approves incentives for talented Athletes
The Council of Educational and Students Affairs in Alexandria University during its session on Monday , 21 December 2015, headed by Dr. Hesham Gaber reviewed the decision of the Supreme Council for Universities for the incentives which will be awarded to talented sportive students who will join the faculties of Physical Education without the need for test of capacity in addition to a discount of 50% of the tuition fees for normal study programs or 25% of the tuition fees for new programs and 50% discount for the university cities charges. Also, these students have the priority to participate in the programs of students exchange with foreign universities.
Alexandria University prizes for 2015
Alexandria University Council in its session held on Tuesday, 24 November 2015 under chairmanship of the Rector Dr. Rushdi Zahran approved the university
prizes for 2015, where the prizes were awarded as following:
Dr. Taha Hussein prize was equally awarded to PROF. DR. Ismail Ibrahim Gomaa; Faculty of Commerce and Prof. Dr. Farouk Ibrahim Shehata; Faculty of Fine Arts.
The University Encouragement Award (in the medical field) to Prof. Dr. Nazek Abdul Latif; Faculty of Pharmacy and (in practical field) it was awarded to Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed, Profprof. Dr.r. Hani Al Sharif; Faculty of Science and Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ibrahim Youssef; Graduate Studies and Research Institute while the prize (in the field of theoretical and social sciences) was awarded to Prof. Dr. Mohammad Kamal Nour Eldin; Faculty of Law.
The University Award for scientific excellence (in the medical field) was awarded to Prof. Dr. Adnan Bakhit; Faculty of Pharmacy while it was (in practical field) to Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Abu Ali, Prof. Dr. Abdul Fattah Mohammad Yousef and Prof. Dr. Sherein Nabil Khattab; Faculty of Science.
The University Award for Scientific Encouragement (in the medical field) was awarded to Dr. Shirin Farouk and Dr. Ahmad Radi from the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Nuha Mohamed Adel, Dr. Rasha Abdul Aziz Shaalan, Dr. Yosra Shaaban and Dr. Marwa Adel Abdellatif from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Dr. Samir Awad El Gendy from Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The prize was awarded ( in practical field) to Dr. Taghrid Zewail; Faculty of Engineering and Dr.
Rowaida Khalil Salah, Dr. Wegdan Ramadan and Dr. Amira Zaki; Faculty of science woo. And Dr. Nehal Mohammad Ali from the Graduate Studies and Research Institute while it was awarded (in the field of education) to Dr. Rania Fathi and Dr. Mohamed Gaber from the Faculty of Education and Dr. Dina Adel Hassan from the Faculty of Specific Education.
