Under the auspices of Dr. Abdelaziz Konswa, President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Economics and Political Science celebrated the graduation of the seventh batch (Spring 2024 batch), numbering 371 graduates (193 graduates from the Economics Department, 178 graduates from the Political Science Department), including more than a hundred students from the English Language Program.
 
 
 
In his speech to the graduates, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Wahban, Dean of the Faculty, conveyed the congratulations of the President of the University to the graduates, then in turn congratulated the graduates, their parents, faculty members, assistants and administrators, praising their sincere efforts in supporting students during the study period, and His Excellency conveyed the praise of all beneficiary entities such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Information and Decision Support Center of the Cabinet, the banking system and others for the distinguished level of the faculty graduates working in those entities, as Dr. Wahban stressed the college's continued support for its graduates and that its doors will always remain open to them. He also recommended that graduates adhere to honesty and noble moral values in their work, and be keen to serve the homeland, preserve the national identity, and support the issues of the Arab nation from the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf.
 
 
 
 
Dr. Osama Al-Adly, the faculty's vice dean for education and student affairs, pointed out that this is the second batch to graduate under the credit hour system, whereby the graduate obtains a bachelor's degree in a major (economics or political science) and a minor, which will allow all graduates to work in either major.
The ceremony witnessed the honoring of the faculty's graduates who obtained their master's and doctorate degrees during the past academic year, and the top graduates of the batch in the bachelor's stage were presented with shields in appreciation of their excellence and superiority.
 
 
 
 
 
The ceremony was attended by a group of Alexandrian society members from the House of Representatives, representatives of the Family House, bankers, deans and vice deans of colleges, faculty members, assistants, and students.

Under the auspices of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the High Institute of Public Health concluded the activities of the 2025 Summer School on “One Health,” organized in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) Office in Egypt, from August 23 to September 7.

The closing ceremony was attended by Prof. Heba El-Kady, Dean of the Institute, Prof. Zeinab Sheta, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, along with WHO representatives in Cairo: Dr. Omar Aboul-Atta, Dr. Reem Gouda, Dr. Heba Abou Bakr, Dr. Yara Khalaf, and Dr. Sara Ghanem. The event also brought together faculty members, experts, and researchers from various health, veterinary, and environmental disciplines, as well as representatives of governmental and private institutions and civil society organizations.

In her remarks, Prof. Heba El-Kady highlighted that this summer school, the first of its kind at the Institute, aimed to promote the “One Health” concept that links human, animal, and environmental health. The intensive training program engaged 43 participants through interactive lectures, applied workshops, and group activities designed to build capacities, encourage critical thinking, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and strengthen the principles of synergy and coordination at the heart of the “One Health” approach. She emphasized that this initiative reflects the Institute’s pioneering role in capacity building and in advancing local and international partnerships to achieve sustainable development goals and improve public health in Egypt and the region.

Prof. Zeinab Sheta added that the program addressed several key themes, including the foundations and principles of “One Health,” surveillance and outbreak investigation, zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), health policies and governance, environmental changes and their impact on public health, as well as community engagement and combating “infodemics.” She noted that participants also developed innovative group projects offering practical solutions to current health challenges, reflecting a strong spirit of teamwork, collaboration, and innovation.

Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, Acting President of Alexandria University, congratulated the graduates of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, who won the position of Diplomatic Attachés in the competition recently organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, namely:
Mr. Youssef Ibrahim Kharboush, Teaching Assistant at the Department of Political Science, Ms. Thuwaiba Mowaffaq Haggag, Graduate of the Department of Political Science, and Mr. Sherif Reda Abul-Ela, Diploma in Political Studies.
 
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Wahban, Dean of the Faculty, expressed his pleasure with the high efficiency and honourable representation of the graduates of the Faculty, and their ability to occupy prestigious positions in one of the largest strongholds of foreign policy.

Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, Dr. Abeer Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, and Engineer Ashraf Moamen, Regional Director of ACT Hospitality Group and Representative of Oracle International in Egypt, signed a cooperation protocol yesterday, Thursday, December 19, 2024, with the aim of cooperating to provide remote technical support and education services, and training students of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels on the use of the licensed program Oracle PMS Software specialized in hotel management according to the highest international scientific standards.

The signing of the protocol was attended by Dr. Nashwa Fouad, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Dina Ezz El-Din, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Dr. Jilan El-Demerdash, Head of the Department of Hotel Studies.
 
 
Dr. Abeer Attia explained during her speech that according to this protocol, training courses will be held for the faculty students to train them on using the Oracle program and provide a detailed explanation of it, explaining that ACT Company will deliver a copy of the program to the faculty and it will be programmed on the faculty’s devices, and a number of faculty members, assistants and administrators will be trained on how to use it and provide them with the user guide for the program.
 
 
Engineer Ashraf Moamen explained that Advanced Computer Technology Company is a company specialized in the field of computers and information systems and is licensed by Oracle International to market, distribute and grant licenses to use Oracle hotel systems in Egypt.

Under the auspices of Dr. Abdelaziz Konswa, President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Economics and Political Science organized a training program entitled "Leadership Skills in Public Affairs" in cooperation with the Mahrousa Foundation for Development and Participation, during which a number of students were trained on the positive participation of youth in public affairs, and the identification of the characteristics and requirements of influential leadership in order to prepare youth capable of serving the nation and raising its status.
 
 
 
 
In his opening speech, Dr. Ahmed Wahban stressed the importance of the workshop topic, which focuses on two important values: leadership and positive participation, pointing out the importance of having effective leaders in various sectors of society in light of society's need for distinguished personalities capable of achieving major goals, and stimulating the spirits and capabilities of subordinates despite their different educational levels, psychological characteristics, and class affiliations. He added that positive participation is the best pillar of democratic systems, and it also represents the essential difference between modern societies and traditional societies. At the end of his speech, Dr. Wahban praised the continuous and constructive cooperation between Alexandria University and all prominent community organizations, including the Mahrousa Foundation, the partner of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science in the workshop.
 
 
 
 
 
Dr. Hani Ibrahim, Chairman of the Mahrousa Foundation, delivered a speech in which he thanked the Faculty of Economics and Political Science for hosting this important course in the field of training and development, especially since it is a course that addresses the positive participation of young people in the affairs of the nation.
