Charity Bazaar at the Faculty of Commerce Open for a Month

Dr. El-Sayed El-Saifi, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, inaugurated the charity bazaar organized by the faculty for students under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, and in cooperation with the Faculty's Alumni Association. Its activities will continue until December 20. The bazaar includes scientific and historical books, leather crafts, various handicrafts, and accessories sold at cost. The Dean of announced that the proceeds from the sale of these products will be donated to support the Fund for the Needy Students at the faculty.
Dr. Alaa El-Din El-Gharabawi, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Ayman Ahmed Shteiwy, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and faculty members participated in the inauguration.

Faculty of Education Organizes Lecture on Credit Hours Culture in Graduate Studies

Dr. Ashraf El-Ghandour, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research at Alexandria University, participated in the lecture organized by the Faculty of Education today under the title: “The Culture of Credit Hours in the Graduate Studies Sector”, delivered by Dr. Mohamed Gamal El-Turki, former Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture.

Dr. Mohamed Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Education, indicated that this lecture comes within the framework of the directives of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, on the necessity of establishing the concepts of leadership empowerment, preparing mid-level leaders, and spreading the culture of credit hours in the postgraduate studies and research sector at the university, explaining that the target group of the lecture is the faculties’ vice-deans and their assistants, heads of academic departments, and postgraduate staff in the faculties of Education, Commerce and Arts.
The lecture witnessed interaction from all the attendees during the discussion and dialogue with the lecturer, and they benefited from the information presented.






Faculty of Arts Educational Seminar: National Discourse through International Challenges and Changes

On behalf of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, Dr. Ashraf El-Ghandour, Vice President of Alexandria University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, witnessed Sunday afternoon the educational symposium organized by the Faculty of Arts within the framework of the activities of the university’s cultural season, which was held under the title “National Discourse in Light of International Challenges and Changes”.


The symposium took place in the Conference Hall at the Faculty of Nursing, in the presence of deans and vice-deans of faculties, faculty members and university students. Participants included Ambassador Mohamed El-Orabi, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the former House of Representatives and President of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs, and Counsellor Dr. Mokhtar Ghobashi, political analyst and Vice President of the Arab Center for Studies.

In his speech, Dr. Ashraf El-Ghandour welcomed the guests of the symposium to Alexandria University, stressing the importance of this symposium in shedding light on the challenges facing Egypt in the current and coming period at the local, regional and international levels, and ways to confront them in light of international changes, stressing the university's keenness to organize these seminars in order to give its students the opportunity to listen to patriotic figures and great experiences in all fields, with the aim of raising awareness and developing a sense of patriotism and belonging.

Dr. Hani Khamis Abdo, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, pointed out the role of the university in raising the level of awareness and risk perception among students, enabling them to keep pace with global changes. He referred to the participation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in the World Government Summit in Dubai as a guest of honour, which reflected the regional and international role of Egypt, and the recognition of its ability to confront political and economic challenges considering the Corona pandemic crisis and the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Orabi expressed his pleasure for being at Alexandria University and discussing contemporary issues with university students, stressing the success of Egyptian foreign policy in achieving a balance between principles and interests. He added that the Egyptian state was able to develop solutions to face threats and protect its borders, in addition to the burden of comprehensive development, through planning a proactive strategy in light of contemporary international changes. He referred to Egypt's approach to resolving issues in peaceful means, spreading peace, stability and development through participation in several international projects such as projects for electrical interconnection with Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Jordan and Libya, in addition to development projects in several African countries. El-Orabi pointed out that Egypt is characterized by distinguished and strong international relations with most countries of the world, which helps in facing challenges and cross-border phenomena such as epidemics, terrorism, and economic issues.
Dr. Mokhtar Ghobashi referred to the difficult situation of the Arab world in facing the consequences of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, which included problems related to gas, energy, and food, stressing the need to change mechanisms at the discourse level, and to open non-traditional axes to get out of this conflict. He added that Egypt is making great efforts to resolve regional conflicts in Palestine, Libya, Syria and Yemen.


Faculty of Physical Education in Abu Qir Organizes Symposium Entitled “Sports and the October War... 50 Years of Pride”

Within the framework of Alexandria University’s celebrations of the golden jubilee of the October victories, and under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, University President, the Faculty of Physical Education for Boys organized a symposium entitled “Sports and the October War... 50 Years of Pride,” in which journalist and media writer Yasser Ayoub lectured, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Abdelhamid Bilal, Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Mohab Abdelrazzaq, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Major General Mohamed Fathi Abul-Nasr, Assistant to the University President for Administrative Affairs, Professor Tarek El-Wakeel, Member of the Faculty Council, Major General Tarek Hassan, Director of the Alexandria Mini Football Federation, in addition to a group of businessmen and those interested in the sports sector in Alexandria, as well as several faculty members and students.
In his speech, Dr. Mohamed Bilal, Dean of the Faculty, stressed the importance of the role of sports, pointing out that this symposium is an archive to clarify the role of sports during the October War and to narrate the heroics and participation of all members of the sports sector in the epic that was waged by the Egyptian Armed Forces.
For his part, the guest speaker Mr. Yasser Ayoub pointed out the great role of sports during the October War as an essential part of the great deception plan carried out by the armed forces to deceive the enemy, explaining that the Egyptian sports archives will always remember the football match between Ghazl El Mahalla and El-Tayaran teams, which was held while the Egyptian army was crossing the Suez Canal water blocker, which came in implementation of the strategic deception plan, as instructions were issued to give a large space to sports pages and football matches and to highlight new football stars. He said that Egypt fought its battle in all fields, including the field of sports, which had a role in the largest deception plan that made the enemy lose its balance and focus. He added that the physical fitness of the soldiers made them perform miracles by crossing the impenetrable water barrier and the impenetrable earthen barrier while carrying heavy weapons on their necks with all valor, and the reason for this was the abundance of physical training of the fighters.
The symposium included a documentary film screening about the October War.


Student Training Project "Steps into Field" Fifth Session Commences its Activities

Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the activities of the student training project, "Steps into Field", began on Wednesday at the Faculty of Agriculture, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Bahey El Din Mohamed, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Sami Khalil, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Ahmed Abdelfattah, Dean the Faculty of Agriculture at Saba Pasha Campus, and Mr. Magdy Saad El-Gharib, representative of the State Information Service, in addition to vice deans of the faculties, and a group of faculty members.

Dr. Mohamed Bahey El Din indicated that the "Steps into Field" project is being held this year in its fifth session for students of the faculties of Agriculture at Shatby, Veterinary Medicine and Faculty of Agriculture at Saba Pasha, and it will continue for two consecutive months, with the aim of refining students’ skills and qualifying them for the labour market through integration between sciences interested in the agricultural and veterinary field. This contributes to increasing employment opportunities, as well as creating small productive projects based on real feasibility studies. He added that the training project is attended by a group of professors at Alexandria University, in addition to some graduates of the project in its previous courses.
