Alexandria University delegation in a visit to Guinea
Within the role of Alexandria University in building strategic partnership with African universities, a delegation from AU is visiting Gamal Abdel-Naser University in Guinea Conakry. The delegation is headed by Dr. Hesham Gaber, AU vice-president for Education and Students Affairs. The delegation included Dr. Ibrahim Rehab the university Advisor for African affairs, Dr. Ahmed Othman the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Dr. Abdel Aziz Qonswa the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.
The delegation was received by the Rector and deans of the Guinean universities in addition to the Guinean ambassador in Cairo.
The meeting discussed the available opportunities of cooperation between the two sides and the activation of the signed agreement in education and scientific research. The two sides agreed to give the priority to the fields of energy, water, health and environmental issues.
It is worth to mention that AU has two branches in South Sudan and Chad and has strong cooperation with many African countries like Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania and others. The university also provides 35 grants in graduate studies every year for students from Nile basin countries.
Cambridge delegation in Alexandria University
Alexandria University President, Dr. Essam El-Kurdi emphasized the cooperation with Cambridge University to establish a specialized center for English language exams. The center should improve student level in English and to organize courses for graduate studies on how to pass English tests required for studying abroad.
This came during the meeting with Dr. Hanan Khalifa, the Director of International Education and Research center in Cambridge and the accompanied delegation.
AU president highlighted the cooperation between the two sides under the signed agreement between Egypt and UK in 2015 for cooperation in education, as well as the program of "Newton – Musharafa" to fund joint projects in this regards.
Dr. El-Kurdi added that Alexandria University through its branches in South Sudan and Chad can act as a window for Cambridge in Africa.
Dr. Hanan Khalifa presented different exams models and systems in Cambridge University and affirmed the necessity to se a strategy for language and preparing programs for student to raise their level and qualify them to study abroad.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed Ismail, AU vice-president for Matroh branch, and deans and deputies of university faculties.
The second international conference of Alexandria University, July 26
Alexandria University international conference II will be held during the period from 26 to 28 July 2017, under the title "Integration of knowledge and innovation: A Way Forward", within the framework of university celebrations of its diamond jubilee (1942-2017).
A selection of researchers and professors from Egyptian, Arab and foreign universities will participate in the conference.The conference will discuss following topics; the concept of human knowledge and its components, cognitive integration and scientific research, language and information: integration or contradiction, knowledge integration and communication technology, knowledge integration in the service of society, knowledge integration and current challenges, Egypt personality: knowledge and the challenges of progress, knowledge integration and innovation after the globalization, and finally knowledge integration in the field of biotechnology.
The university will receive the contributions of faculty members on conference topicswith abstractfor each research not more than 250 words. The abstractson a CD to be sent to the office of AU vice-president for community Service Environment Development (Department of Communications and Conferences)and another soft copy to be sent via the email address This email address is being protected from spambots. Signing a cooperation protocol between AU and the National Council of Women
Alexandria University President Dr. Essam El-Kurdi has recently signed a cooperation protocol with the President of the National Council for Women Dr. Maya Morsi. The protocol objective is to support scientific research with regard to women and the dissemination of the culture of attention to her scientific, health and social activities in addition to preparing programs, scientific researches, training courses, workshops and conferences to protect the women and ensure their freedoms.
Dr. Essam El-Kurdi praised the efforts of the National Council of Women to support the women, pointing out the importance of 2017 as the year of the Egyptian Woman. He emphasized AU support to all areas concerning the woman indicating that the protocol signed today is the first protocol in all Egyptian universities for cooperation with the National Council of Women.
Dr. Maya Morsi, stressed on the role of the university the activation of the articles of the Constitution which provides support for the women to take their socially and politically rights.
Alexandria University receives the governor of rotary district
Alexandria University President Dr. Essam El-Kurdi has recently received the Rotary District Governor Mayan Raslan and the accompanied delegation to coordinate and provide support to variousyouth activities and organizing training courses for university students during in the weekend, as well as literacy activities and Joint medical convoys.
Dr.Kurdi indicated that Alexandria University through the Entrepreneurship Center aims at the rehabilitation of youth for the labor market with necessary skills. He referred to the possibility of developing joint programs with Rotary Club Unionfor this purpose.
Dr. Raslandeclared about preparing a cooperation protocol between the two sides for the rehabilitation of youth to be habilitated for participation and leadership in society development.
