Dr. Roshdy Zahran Alexandria University President Dr. Roshdy Zahran with Faculty of Science dean and staff inaugurated the 2nd scouting festival for girls and boys in faculties of science of Egyptian universities. The inauguration event was on Thursday 28th of July

2016. The festival will be held during the period from 26 July till 2 August 2016 in the Faculty of Science building – El-Hurria road under title of “Scientific Professions are the basis for renaissance”.

The event aims at entrenching the concept of public service and community service and applying objectives and principles of scouting through working by the law and communication between faculties of science as there i6 universities are participating for the second consecutive year.

Dr. Roshdy Zahran stated that the festival aims at strengthen ties of friendship, interdependence and cooperation between students of the faculties of Science in Egyptian universities. He also urged the youth to love Egypt and he commended the role of our wise political leadership for safe passage to be a stable country.

Dr. Hesham Gaber; University Vice President for Education and Students Affairs stressed the pioneer role of faculties of science scouts in the advancement of the state and their efforts to make the festival a success.

Dr. Mohamed Ismail; Dean of the Faculty of Science stated that holding the festival in the Faculty of Science for the second consecutive year is an evidence that the first one had succeeded.

 

In the context of implementing the memoranda of understanding between Alexandria University and Gamal Abdel Nasser University of Conakry, Dr. Roshdy Zahran received the ambassador of Guinea Conakry on Thursday 28th of July 2016 in order to revise the MOU in regarding to teaching, training and scientific research.

The two sides agreed to exchange visits to evaluate the situation in Gamal Abdel Nasser University and its need of faculty members and research activities at graduate and under graduate stages to be covered by AU.

Dr. Roshdy Zahran welcomed students from Gamal Abdel Nasser University of Conakry to study with the French program at Faculties of Medicine, Commerce, Law and Agriculture as well as receiving students and staff to learn Arabic language at Faculty of Art.

 

Dr. Seddik Abdel Salam; Vice President of Alexandria University for Graduate studies and Research declared that the British government in collaboration with the Egyptian government will provide grants provided through Newton-Mosharafa Program under title:

Institutional Link Grants for Cultural Heritage 2016

The available grants shall support joint research projects between Egyptian universities and the British research institutions with total fund of 300 £ as maximum.
