Alexandria University Signs Cooperation Protocol with Elsewedy Electric Company to Implement Joint Programs Raising Students’ Efficiency, Providing Employment and Training Opportunities
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, and Mr. Walid Tayel, Head of the Human Resources Sector at Elsewedy Electric Company, signed, via video conference, a joint cooperation protocol for implementing joint programs with the aim of raising the efficiency of students and graduates at Alexandria University, and qualifying them for local, regional and international labour markets.
The signing of the agreement was witnessed by Dr. Essam Wahba, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, who signed the agreement on behalf of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, Dr. Wael El-Meghlani, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Gihan Gewaifel, Assistant to the University President for International University Affairs.
In his speech via video conference, Dr. Konsowa stressed that this agreement is consistent with one of the most important strategies adopted by Alexandria University for cooperation between academia and industry and linking the outputs of scientific research to the requirements of the national industry. He indicated that this agreement aims to support the national industry to build a strong national economy, in line with Egypt's 2030 Strategy to support the knowledge-based economy and link scientific research to industry in its comprehensive sense.
He added that it aims to improve the competitiveness of education systems and outcomes, and to support the market economy in order to achieve comprehensive and sustainable growth, characterized by competitiveness and diversity, through providing efficient training to Alexandria University students, as well as providing job opportunities for them, so that they can compete in local, regional and international labour markets. Dr. Konsowa stressed that Alexandria University will support this agreement by providing all necessary logistical tools to ensure the quality of joint training programs between the two sides, in addition to inviting Elsewedy Electric Company to participate in all employment activities organized by Alexandria University.
Meanwhile, engineer Ahmed Elsewedy in his speech via video conference expressed his pleasure to cooperate with the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University due to the quality of its graduates in various fields related to the engineering field. He stressed that the company works in 50 countries around the world in Africa, Europe and Asia, pointing out that the company employs a large percentage of youth annually, stressing that job and training opportunities will be provided in the company for students of the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, especially since young people are the hope of the Egyptian state and its bright future.
While Dr. Essam Wahba welcomed the delegation of Elsewedy Electric Company to the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, stressing that this agreement will be the beginning of a sustainable relationship between the two sides.
Dr. Wahba said that graduates of the Faculty of Engineering at Alexandria University are internationally recognized for their scientific and academic excellence, especially since the faculty has advanced educational programs. He added that the faculty is always working to raise the competitiveness of its students at all levels by providing several training programs and agreements with major international companies and institutions, in order to bridge the gap between academic curricula and labour market needs.
Mr. Walid Tayel also confirmed that the Faculty of Engineering at Alexandria University has distinguished educational programs in various engineering specializations, and pointed out that it has a distinguished academic and research reputation and works according to an integrated system to raise the efficiency of educational and research services according to the needs of the labour market.
Following the signing of the agreement, the delegation of Elsewedy Electric presented the job and training opportunities available at the company inside and outside Egypt to the faculty students.
Alexandria University Organizes Seminar for Students on “Scientific Roots of Artificial Intelligence”
Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, an educational seminar was held yesterday for university students entitled: “The Scientific Roots of Artificial Intelligence,” in which Dr. Mohamed Sameh Salah El-Nemaky, the international expert in the field of building strategies based on artificial intelligence, spoke at the University Theatre in the Faculty of Economics and Political Science building in Smouha, with the participation of about five hundred students from all university faculties.
During the symposium, the university guest spoke about the roots of the science of artificial intelligence, its basic components, its importance, and the path it is taking towards a future in which the world’s steps are accelerating to achieve transformation in ways of thinking, learning, and development.
The students were keen to listen, participate and ask questions after the lecture, and the university guest promised to give a similar lecture soon in the presence of faculty members and graduate students interested in this field, and to present a plan for joint cooperation through a special program for artificial intelligence and strategic thinking and management.




Jiangsu Chinese University Delegation Visits Alexandria University to Enhance Cooperation
On behalf of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, received a delegation from the Chinese Jiangsu Ocean University, headed by Dr. Ning Xiaoming, President of the University, and his accompanying delegation, to discuss and enhance ways of cooperation between the two sides and sign a letter of intent in preparation for signing a joint protocol to enhance research and academic cooperation and student exchange among them.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Hesham Saeed, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Sameh Shehata, Supervisor of the University’s Office of International Relations, Dr. Gihan Gewaifel, Assistant to the University President for International University Affairs, Dr. Boshra Salem, Assistant to the University President for International Rankings, Dr. Mervat Kassem, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Essam Wahba, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Dr. Omnia Yakout, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Business for Postgraduate Studies and Research.

In his speech, Dr. Saeed Allam confirmed that Alexandria University has held many scientific partnerships with Chinese universities in scientific, academic and research fields of common interest. The university received professors and specialists from Chinese universities to teach Chinese language and culture in the Chinese Language Department at the Faculty of Arts. Students from both sides were also received and sent to study Chinese language and culture, and vice versa.
For his part, Dr. Ning Xiaoming stated that Jiangsu Ocean University chose Alexandria University, as the first university in Africa to cooperate with, due to its distinguished scientific reputation. He pointed out that his university had signed 80 cooperation agreements with international universities, stressing that there are many scientific and research fields of common interest between the two universities.
In Presence of Ambassador Nabila Makram.. Faculty of Pharmacy Organizes Lecture Entitled “Mental Health: Patient’s Courage and Society Culture”
Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Mervat Kassem, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, attended the lecture organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy entitled “Mental Health: Patient’s Courage and Society Culture.” The lecture was attended by Ambassador Nabila Makram, founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of “Fahem” Foundation for Psychological Support and former Minister of State for Immigration and Affairs of Egyptians Abroad.

In her speech, Ambassador Nabila Makram indicated that Fahem Foundation is concerned with raising awareness of mental health, strengthening social relations between members of society, and discovering mental illnesses, and it also aims to break the stigma that may haunt the mentally ill. Ambassador Makram expressed her regret for society’s description of the mentally ill with incorrect descriptions or titles. She called for correcting these concepts among individuals and society, getting closer to the patients, listening to them, and changing the culture of society in this regard. She also stressed the necessity of staying away from any influences on mental health, pointing to the negative impact of social networking sites and news of various conflicts and wars in the entire world. She also extended her respects to Egyptian women for their struggles and the state of suffering that a family member may face with mental illness.

During the meeting, an open dialogue was held with faculty members from the Faculty of Pharmacy on how to deal with the mentally ill and integrate them into society, as well as the importance of psychiatric medications in stabilizing and treating the psychological condition.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed El Feky, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Sherif Rostom, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Hanan Goweili, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Hala Mostafa, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Iman Youssef, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Tamer Abdullah, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, in addition to faculty members at the Faculty of Pharmacy.
The organization of the meeting was supervised by Dr. Hamida Abu Shleib, emerita professor at the faculty, and representatives of the African Centre for Women’s Health Services in Alexandria.
President of Alexandria University Receives Delegation from British University of Essex to Discuss Means of Cooperation
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, wellcomed a delegation from the British University of Essex, headed by Dr. Vanessa Potter, Vice President of the University of Essex for International Relations, and her accompanying delegation, in order to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides in various scientific disciplines.

The meeting was attended on the part of Alexandria University by Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Hisham Saeed, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Sameh Shehata, Supervisor of the International Universities Relations Office at Alexandria University, Dr. Gihan Gewaifel, Assistant to the University President for International University Affairs, Dr. Boshra Salem, Assistant to the University President for International Rankings, Dr. Ahmed Abdelhakim, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Essam Wahba, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Dr. Omnia Yaqout, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Business for Postgraduate Studies and Research. In his speech, Dr. Àllam stressed the depth of the ties between Alexandria University and many British universities, pointing out that Alexandria University seeks to conclude many cooperation agreements with prestigious international universities to achieve the competitiveness of graduates, as well as researchers in fields that are compatible with development thought and keeping pace with national trends consistent with Egypt’s Vision 2030, and contributing to linking scientific research with industry.
For her part, Dr. Lax expressed her pleasure for visiting Alexandria University, and expressed her aspiration to achieve more cooperation with Alexandria University, especially after the remarkable progress achieved by the latter in recent years in various disciplines, and the success of the agreement concluded last March 2023 between the two universities. She also confirmed her readiness to transfer Alexandria University's vision to take the necessary steps towards achieving further cooperation between the two sides.

During the meeting, a presentation was given on the strategy of Alexandria University, its distinguished educational programs, and research and academic services provided by Alexandria University to students whether inside or outside Egypt, and the most important academic programs and unique scientific specializations at the university, especially the new and innovative ones that keep pace with the local, regional and international labour markets. In addition, the presentation demonstrated the partnerships with major international universities that support academic and student exchange in various academic disciplines, Alexandria University’s ranking in international classifications and its progress in terms of research and social performance, global citations, quality of research, academic reputation, quality of its graduates, and joint degrees with the British University of Manchester in the fields of medicine, surgery, and dentistry, as well as the future plan aiming to create joint academic degrees in many disciplines.
