Faculty of Agriculture, Alexandria University Celebrates Its Graduates Over 65 Years
Under the auspices of Professor Dr Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Agriculture celebrated its alumni from the sixties until 2024 in a reunion organized by the faculty under the title "Generations Reunion".
Dr. Mohamed Bahey El-Din, Dean of the Faculty, indicated that this event was attended by approximately a thousand graduates of the faculty from different batches, where the attendees were received by the faculty administration and the organizing committee. The attendees praised the idea of the reunion and reliving their happy memories within the faculty in a pleasant atmosphere.
During the meeting, a presentation was given on the history of the faculty since its establishment in 1942, as well as documentary films with old and new graduates.
Dr. Mohamed Bahey El-Din read the statement of the University Council regarding the Palestinian issue, stating the university’s stance standing as one behind the political leadership and the measures it is taking to support national sovereignty. The attendees agreed to stand as one and support their university’s statement in support of the Egyptian state.
At the end of the meeting, a commemorative shield was presented to the sponsor of the celebration, Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, and commemorative photos were taken around the faculty premises.
Seminar on Developing Spirit of Loyalty and Belonging in Light of Hostile Psychological Operations
Within the framework of the political leadership's directives on the necessity of raising awareness among young people and developing their spirit of belonging, and under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, in collaboration with the leadership of the Popular Defense Forces and the Military, Alexandria University organized today, Tuesday, the 11th of February 2025, an educational seminar entitled "Developing the Spirit of Loyalty and Belonging in light of hostile psychological operations", at the Faculty of Engineering, lectured by Dr. Taher Nasr, Visiting Lecturer at the Military Academy for Graduate Studies and Strategy.
The seminar was attended by Dr. Walid Abdelazim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Wael El-Meghlani, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Education and Student Affairs, Colonel Mohamed Maher Abdelaziz, Director of the Military Education Department at Alexandria University, Lieutenant Colonel Shehab El-Din Magdy, Deputy Director of Military Education at Alexandria University, and a group of faculty members, assistants at the faculty, and students.
During the event, Dr. Taher Nasr reviewed the visions that aim to enhance national values among young people and their contribution to combating misconceptions that may be promoted by some groups. He also touched on the importance of education and training as a basic means of qualifying individuals and how to invest available resources to develop the necessary skills and competencies. Dr. Nasr also addressed the elements related to enhancing the national belonging of young people, defining thought terrorism and the weak points that lead to being vulnerable to thought terrorism and the effective steps to confront and prevent them, in addition to many axes, including the social dimension of national security, which is an influential factor in national security and is responsible for activating its security as an individual or a society, which requires preparing citizens in a sound manner in terms of his health, morals, cultures and heritage. At the end of the seminar, Dr. Taher stressed to the students the importance of achieving psychological stability by dealing with events with thought, increasing national cohesion, the ability to deal with personal psychological frustrations, overcome despair ,maintain the stability of the Egyptian family, and increase internal cohesion among them.
President of Alexandria University Inaugurates "Mascot of Civilizations" Mural on Faculty of Fine Arts Wall
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, inaugurated this morning the "Mascot of Civilizations" mural, which was executed by faculty students students on the wall of the main building of the Faculty of Fine Arts, as a graduation project for the 62nd batch.
The inauguration was witnessed by Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Nevin Gharib, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Dr. Hesham Seoudi, former Dean of the Faculty and Head of the Engineers Syndicate in Alexandria, Dr. Mohamed Helal, former Dean of the Faculty, Mr. Ehab Zakaria, member of the Senate, in addition to a number of faculty members, Dr. Mona Ragab, emerita lecturer at the faculty and supervisor of the mural implementation, and Ms. Menatallah Mohamed Abbas, a teaching assistant in the Mural Painting Department at the faculty.
In his speech, Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa praised the distinguished level of the mural, which includes wonderful designs that express different civilizations, stressing the university's keenness to provide support in all its forms to stimulate creativity and innovation and encourage students to showcase their talents and creative ideas, implement them on the ground and harness them to meet the needs of society and the surrounding environment, referring to the long history and international reputation enjoyed by the Faculty of Fine Arts at the university, the leading role of it's alumni in serving the nation in various fields and the efforts of the faculty in contributing to national projects such as implementing sculpture and restoration works in Antoniadis Gardens, directing to the need to optimally utilize graduation projects and employ them to beautify the university's faculties and their surrounding community in cooperation with civil society.
Dr. Konsowa encouraged students to submit their creative ideas to the Technology Valley at Alexandria University to obtain the necessary funding and transform their innovative and creative ideas into start-up companies in cooperation with industrial partners.
Dr. Nevin Gharib thanked the university president for the continuous support provided by the university to the faculty, enabling it to achieve its goals in education, scientific research and community service, pointing out the cooperation with civil society to implement creative student projects and serve the surrounding environment, adding that the mural of the mascot of civilizations added an aesthetic touch to the wall of the Faculty of Fine Arts.
Dr. Mona Ragab confirmed that the mural consists of 12 artistic panels done by 12 students, and extends over an area of 60 square meters. She pointed out that the implementation of the mural took a year and a half of continuous and diligent work using natural materials such as stone, marble, granite and mosaic, and was installed on the wall of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Mazloum, Alexandria. She added that the project was based on the subject of art history and its collective idea was inspired by the great civilizations that left their mark on the world. This project brings together the essence of some of the most influential civilizations in history, starting with the Stone Age, ancient Egyptian civilization, Mayan and Aztec civilizations, Greco-Roman civilization, Coptic, and Islamic civilizations. She pointed out that the mural includes main symbols and motifs that represent different civilizations, in addition to texts and languages that express the identities of these civilizations.
The opening ceremony also included honouring the students who executed the mural and handing them certificates of appreciation. They are: Israa Mohamed, Asma Abul-Hassan, Basma Essam, Aya Khafaga, Rowan Ashraf, Rowan Wael, Simon Moawad, Tasneem El-Kurdi, Maryam Hussein, Mona Asfour, Abdelrahman Saeed, and Nardine Naeem.
Faculty of Medicine Organizes Its First Alumni Forum and Entrepreneurship Exhibition for Its Graduates
Under the auspices of Professor Dr Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, witnessed yesterday, Saturday the 28th of December 2024, the first forum and entrepreneurship exhibition for alumni of the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University.
The forum was attended by Dr. Jacqueline Azer, Governor of Beheira, Dr. Hind Hanafy, member of the Senate and former President of the University, Dr. Iman Youssef, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Students Affairs, Dr. Tamer Abdallah, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Ashraf Saad Galal, Professor of Ophthalmology and former Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Naglaa Mashaal, Professor of Internal Medicine and Director of the General Program for the Pre-Bachelor's Stage, in addition to a group of former Vice Presidents of the University, former Deans and Vice Deans of the Faculty of Medicine, faculty members, graduates of the Faculty and students.
In his speech, Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen stressed that this day is one of the distinguished days at the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, noting that the idea of holding this forum came in order for previous and future generations to meet and exchange experiences and success stories achieved by previous generations in order to be a motivator and encouragement for future generations. Dr. Abdelmohsen said that since its establishment in 1942, the Faculty of Medicine has graduated many generations of skilled doctors who have distinguished themselves scientifically, administratively and in leadership, as they have held many managerial positions in various medical specialties in Egypt and the world. He pointed out that these alumni are the human force that has given the faculty its distinction and leadership as a result of their excellence and abundant knowledge. He stressed that the goal of the forum is also to raise the faculty's QS ranking, which is based on the reputation of graduates through their research output and career history, noting that the alumni have contributed to the faculty being among the top 300 medical colleges in the world.
While Dr. Iman Youssef confirmed that the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, is proud of the its alumni all over the world because they are the best ambassadors for their country in all medical specialties, stressing that the faculty graduates of experienced doctors have established the values of noble behavior, wise leadership and loyalty and are a role model for all subsequent generations, noting that the forum aims to provide support to students and maintain ties to build strong bridges between different generations.
Dr. Tamer Abdallah stressed that the forum is one of the manifestations of celebration and loyalty to the alumni who have made efforts and giving over the years and in appreciation of what they have provided during their academic career and their scientific and research contributions, and to motivate students and future generations to continue to excel and succeed by listening to the success stories achieved by those graduates. He stressed that the alumni have held the highest administrative positions in all sectors of the state, whether in medical or non-medical institutions, and stressed that the Alumni Association Office works to facilitate all services for graduates and shed light on their successes.
Dr. Ashraf Saad Galal expressed his pride for belonging to the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, which has contributed to graduating distinguished medical cadres in various specialties whose efforts are inexhaustible. He pointed out that the faculty graduates have not only excelled in the medical field, but they have also excelled in other fields such as art, sports, poetry, literature, history, archaeology and music.
Dr. Naglaa Mashaal pointed out that the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, is one of the distinguished faculties in all medical specialties in Egypt and the world, stressing that the forum brings together the giants of the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, to exchange experiences and motivate current and future generations to follow in their footsteps.
Faculty of Education at Alexandria University holds its scientific forum on the future of educational policies
Under the auspices of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, and the supervision of Dr. Hassan Saad Abdeen, Dean of the Faculty of Education, the Department of Educational Administration and Education Policies at the Faculty of Education held the second forum of the department, entitled "Educational Policies: Contemporary Challenges and Future Prospects".
In his speech, Dr. Hassan Abdeen, Dean of the Faculty, stressed the importance of strategic planning for educational policies, the need to monitor the challenges facing this planning, and develop innovative solutions and proposals to address these challenges. He also stressed the importance of linking educational policies to the changing needs of the labor market, to ensure the graduation of qualified cadres capable of effectively contributing to building the future of the nation.
The forum addressed a variety of topics and issues related to educational policies, including the challenges of educational policies in the digital age, the role of technology in developing education, education for sustainable development, developing curricula to meet the needs of the labor market, and the role of educational administration in implementing educational policies.
The forum sessions witnessed extensive discussions and exchange of views among the participants, where the latest studies and research in the field of educational policies were reviewed, and practical proposals and recommendations were presented to develop education in Egypt.
