Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated the students of the Faculty of Engineering participating in the summer training program at the University of Louisville, USA, on the occasion of achieving first places in the annual summer training competition at the University of Louisville, where student Rana Mohamed El-Saeed Zayed won first place, and student Mariam Nabil Abdelfattah Ismail won second place.
 
 
 
It is worth noting that the summer training program comes within the framework of the distinguished partnership between Alexandria University and the University of Louisville, USA, over the past years, which includes the partnership in summer training in research laboratories at the University of Louisville, and the partnership in the 2+2 bachelor's programs to grant double degrees in computer science and engineering, and biomedical engineering majors.
 
 
 
This year will witness the graduation of the first group that joined the University of Louisville through this partnership in the field of biomedical engineering, numbering five students.

As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting its graduates, preparing them for the job market, and promoting transparency and institutional governance, the Faculty of Medicine at Alexandria University organized the First Employment Forum for Young Doctors on the morning of Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Grand Conference Hall of the Faculty.

The event was attended by a number of distinguished academic and medical figures, including Prof. Hend Hanafy, former President of Alexandria University; Prof. Seddik Abdel Salam, former Vice President of the University; Prof. Mahmoud El-Zalabany, former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Ali Abdel Mohsen, former Vice President of the University; Prof. Morsi Arab, Professor of Internal Medicine; and Prof. Abdel Moneim Fawzy, President of the Alexandria Medical Syndicate, along with a large number of faculty members, teaching assistants, and students.

Prof. Tamer Abdallah, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board, stated that the forum was characterized by rich and interactive discussions between professors and students, reflecting a strong sense of academic belonging and intergenerational connection within the Faculty. He added that the event contributes to preparing medical cadres capable of meeting the challenges of the labor market. The program included several specialized lectures, among them one delivered by Dr. Shaimaa Sabry Habib, Director of Training at the School of Health Affairs and Coordinator of the Egyptian Board, on professional development pathways for young doctors.

Prof. Eman Youssef, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, explained that the forum witnessed wide participation from students across all academic years, who showed great interest in the discussion sessions and professional lectures addressing career planning skills, medical training requirements, and mechanisms for joining the Egyptian Board. She added that the forum concluded with a set of recommendations emphasizing the leading role of the Faculty of Medicine in empowering young doctors, equipping them with the knowledge and skills required for professional excellence, and fostering values of belonging, leadership, and innovation within the medical community.

The forum was organized under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed Zeid, Professor of Internal Medicine and Head of the Liver Transplantation Unit, with contributions from the organizing team: Dr. Ayat Al-Tayyar, Dr. Noran Al-Nemr, Dr. Mostafa Asal, Dr. Doaa Abu El-Dahab, Dr. Nesma Saeed, and Dr. Ahmed Hani.

Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, attended the graduation ceremony of a new class of Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) students on Sunday evening, June 1, 2025. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ayman Sheteiwy, Dean of the Faculty of Business; Dr. Saeed Abdelaziz, former Governor of Sharkia and former Dean of the Faculty of Business; Dr. Farid El-Sahn, Executive Director of the Professional Graduate Studies Unit at the Faculty of Business; Engineer Wael Lotfy, Chairman and Managing Director of Engineering for the Petroleum and Process Industries Company (ENPPI); Major General Hazem Badr El-Din, Assistant Commander of the Northern Military Region; in addition to a group of academic and industrial leaders, members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, and faculty members from the Faculty of Business.

In his speech, Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, expressed his pleasure at participating in this celebration, emphasizing the role of the Executive MBA Program in graduating business leaders and decision-makers who keep pace with the demands of a rapidly changing labour market. He praised the graduates' commitment and dedication to balancing their professional and academic responsibilities, urging them to continue developing themselves and learning new things in their fields of specialization. The President of the University emphasized Alexandria University's commitment to offering advanced academic programs that meet international standards and the needs of the labour market both inside and outside Egypt. He explained that the university currently offers up to 80 double and joint degrees with highly ranked international universities, enhancing the university's vision for local, regional, and global competitiveness.

 

 

 

For his part, Dr. Ayman Sheteiwy, Dean of the Faculty of Business, expressed his pleasure at the graduation of 186 students from the Executive Master's Program. He emphasized the faculty’s role in offering academic programs that keep pace with labour market demands, noting the introduction of joint and dual degrees with prestigious American, British, and French international universities. He emphasized that the graduates should be a proud representative of their faculty, acting as its ambassadors in the workplace.

 

 

Engineer Wael Lotfy, Chairman and Managing Director of ENPPI, emphasized that the ceremony embodies the connection between the academic and industrial communities, noting that cooperation with the university began in 2019. Mr. Lotfy emphasized the importance of continuous education and practical application, emphasizing that we are in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which relies on artificial intelligence. However, he emphasized that the human element remains the common and fundamental factor in all industrial developments.

 

 

In her speech, Dr. Omnia Yaqout, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research at the Faculty of Business, emphasized that the celebration represents the culmination of boundless ambition and the challenges that have been overcome. She explained that the professional master's degree is a fundamental requirement in a rapidly changing world, urging graduates to use education as an effective tool for change in their new phase. She added that the Executive MBA Program in Business Administration and Accounting works to support strong companies among major economic entities with global universities such as George Washington University and the University of Georgia in the United States.

Under the auspices of the President of Alexandria University, Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, and within the framework of the active partnership between Alexandria University and the University of Louisville in the United States, the University of Louisville is hosting students from Alexandria University for summer training in its research laboratories across various engineering fields. This year, the University of Louisville is offering scholarships to Alexandria University students for the fourth consecutive year, in what is considered one of the most prominent undergraduate research training programs in the Middle East.

This program provides Egyptian students with a unique opportunity to participate in applied research projects within the University of Louisville’s laboratories, under the direct supervision of a distinguished group of American scientists and professors.

This year, the participating students from Alexandria University are enrolled in the following programs:

▪️ Chemical Engineering Program

▪️ Computer and Communication Engineering Program

▪️ Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering Program

▪️ Gas and Petrochemicals Engineering Program

▪️ Electromechanical Engineering Program

This participation represents an extension of a successful partnership between Alexandria University and the University of Louisville, which includes:

  • The Dual Degree Program between the two universities.

The academic partnership between Alexandria University and the University of Louisville covers all engineering disciplines and offers a unique opportunity for engineering students to obtain a dual bachelor’s degree from both universities through one of the following models:

◾ The (3+2) system: the student studies three years at Alexandria University, followed by two years at the University of Louisville.

◾ The (4+1) system: the student studies four years at Alexandria University, followed by a fifth year at the University of Louisville.

Upon successful completion of the program, the student receives:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville, USA
  • A Bachelor’s degree from Alexandria University

It is worth mentioning that last year witnessed the graduation of the first cohort of Alexandria University students enrolled in the dual degree program in Biomedical Engineering, after successfully completing their studies at the University of Louisville, with a total of seven graduates.

This international partnership reflects Alexandria University’s commitment to developing the academic and research capacities of its students by providing genuine opportunities to engage in global scientific and research environments, promoting cultural exchange, and acquiring international experience in advanced engineering specializations.

The university also affirms its continued commitment to providing an educational environment that is open to the world, paving the way for its students to achieve leadership and excellence and empowering them to compete confidently at both the local and international levels.

Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated the Faculty of Pharmacy for its "Green Cycle" project winning third place at the level of Alexandria Governorate in the National Initiative for Green Smart Projects in its third edition (2024) in the category of non-profit community initiatives and participations.
 
 
 
It is worth noting that the project won for the second year in a row in this initiative, as it achieved first place at the level of Alexandria Governorate last year.
 
 
 
For his part, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khaled Saeed, Governor of Alexandria, honoured the winning projects, and handed over certificates of appreciation to Dr. Sherif Rostom, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Dr. Amr El-Hawit, Professor of Drugs and Member of the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Committee at the Faculty, in the presence of Major General Khaled Shoeib, Governor of Matrouh, Dr. Jacqueline Azer, Governor of Beheira, and the faculty members.
