Professor Dr. Abelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, received a Fulbright Commission delegation on Thursday, May 8, 2025, headed by Dr. Maggie Nassif, Executive Director of the Commission. The delegation discussed cooperation between Alexandria University and the Commission in research and academic fields of mutual interest. The delegation also discussed Fulbright grants for research and study in the United States to develop the skills of researchers and faculty members at Alexandria University. The delegation reviewed the Commission's programs and scholarships offered for study in the United States, and discussed mechanisms for supporting institutional capacity and exchanging academic expertise.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President of Alexandria University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Abdelhakim, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Boshra Salem, Assistant President for International Rankings, Dr. Gihan Gewaifel, Assistant President for International Branches, and Dr. Lana Habib, Supervisor of the Centre for Teaching Arabic to Foreigners (TAFL) at Alexandria University.
During the meeting, Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa expressed his appreciation for the important and vital role played by the Fulbright Commission in supporting researchers. He praised the Commission's efforts in providing genuine academic opportunities that contribute to the development of academic competencies in accordance with international standards. He emphasized Alexandria University's commitment to expanding international cooperation with all funding agencies to develop the educational process at Alexandria University. He noted Alexandria University's commitment to providing the necessary facilities for all its students and faculty members to obtain grants provided by the Commission, as well as exchanging expertise between researchers in various fields, implementing joint research projects, scheduling educational exchanges, and exchanging students and faculty members between the two sides. He also highlighted the development of educational programs, offering joint academic programs, developing the skills of researchers and faculty members, organizing workshops, seminars, and conferences, and offering specialized training programs.
For her part, Dr. Maggie Nassif expressed her appreciation for Alexandria University for its outstanding academic and research capabilities and vast human capital. She also reviewed the numerous new opportunities and grants offered to professors and researchers to conduct research in the United States in various fields, in addition to providing graduate and postdoctoral programs in academic and professional fields.
