In its session, chaired by Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, the Community Service and Environmental Development Council discussed the university's preparations, executive steps, and methodological procedures for effective participation in the 2024 Egypt Award for Government Excellence, in accordance with the axes of excellence and institutional and administrative performance standards emanating from Egypt's Vision 2030. Dr. Saeed Allam emphasized the need to implement a set of development proposals to enhance university participation in the Egypt Government Excellence Award. These proposals include establishing an Institutional Excellence Support Unit at the university level, responsible for overall supervision and coordination of the award, providing technical support to faculties, launching an annual training program for award coordinators at faculties to enhance their capabilities in preparing nomination files, implementing periodic internal evaluation reviews that mimic the official evaluation mechanism, improving institutional documentation mechanisms, designing a clear annual timeline for participation in the award, including all stages of preparation and submission, organizing knowledge exchange forums between faculties to showcase successful experiences and best practices in institutional excellence, strengthening the link between faculties' plans and initiatives with the axes of Egypt's Vision 2030, launching internal incentive awards for the best nomination file to raise the level of competition and excellence, and periodically monitoring institutional performance indicators and linking their results to the level of faculties' readiness.

The Council also discussed the university's preparations for the onset of summer and the rise in temperatures. Dr. Saeed Allam Ali, Vice Deans of Alexandria University's faculties and institutes, emphasized the need to adhere to occupational health and safety procedures. These include reviewing all loads and ensuring proper electrical connections, ensuring firefighting equipment and tools are available in designated locations, and performing necessary maintenance. Safety personnel and electrical technicians will also be deployed 24/7 throughout all university facilities to monitor and ensure the necessary preventive measures are being taken.

The Council was informed of the report submitted by the Faculties of Law, Medicine, Science, Agriculture, Education, and Physical Education for Boys, the Institute of Graduate Studies and Research, the Faculty of Agriculture in Saba Pasha, and Early Childhood Education regarding community activities conducted at these faculties related to community service and environmental development.
