Within the framework of implementing the signed cooperation protocols, and Alexandria University's keenness to establish international partnerships with prestigious and top-ranked international universities, Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, and Dr. Maria Fasli, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Essex in the United Kingdom, signed a group of collaborative awards in dentistry, engineering, economics and political science at the university's headquarters in Colchester in the United Kingdom.
 
 
 
 
 
President Konsowa explained that the dual degrees signed by Alexandria University are as following: a dual MSc in Periodontology at the Faculty of Dentistry in a 2+1 model, and several MSc in engineering in Computer and Communication, Electromechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, and Biomedical Engineering with a 4+1 system, as well as a MSc in Economics and Political Science in a 3+1 model, where the student obtains a bachelor's degree from Alexandria University and a master's degree from the University of Essex in the United Kingdom in an accelerated master.
 
 
 
 
Dr. Konsowa pointed out that this cooperation comes in implementation of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, which focuses on raising the global competitiveness of higher education, opening up horizons for cooperation between Egyptian universities with prestigious foreign institutions and universities, achieving maximum benefit in enriching educational and research experiences and quality, and raising the competitiveness of graduates globally. He explained that the agreement signed between the two parties stipulates the start of studies with dual degrees at the Faculties of Engineering and Dentistry at Alexandria University start next fall on credit hour system, under the full supervision of Alexandria University, and in accordance with the accreditation regulations of the British University of Essex.
 
 
 
Double degrees in artificial intelligence with both the Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry were discussed, and different fields of cooperation in the field of scientific research in many disciplines were discussed, especially artificial intelligence, the cooperation of the technology park to be established by Alexandria University with its counterpart at Essex University.
 
 
 
 
On the sidelines of the visit, Alexandria University delegation visited the Knowledge Gateway, Innovation Centre, and BCI Lab in a full-day tour.
 
 
 
 
The signing ceremony of the agreement was attended from Alexandria University by Professor Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President of Alexandria University for Education and Students, Dr. Gihan Gewaifel, Assistant of the President of the University for International Cooperation and International Branch campuses, and Dr. Ahmed Abdelhakim, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry. They were received from Essex University by Dr. Maria Fasli, Vice-Chancellor of the University, the Deans of the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Computer and Electronic Engineering, the officials of the International Relations Office, and the officials of Technology Park and Knowledge Gateway.
