Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated artist Alaa El-Basha, a photography specialist at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the university, on winning the "Mozi International Award for Outstanding Photographer" presented by the Jinan International Photography Biennale, organized by the Chinese Ministry of Culture, as part of its tenth session for active artists in the Middle East, Europe and America, wishing him continued success.
The Biennale was held under the auspices of the Chinese Ministry of Culture and UNESCO, from October 17 to 27 at Shandong University in the halls of the Arts and Crafts Institute in Jinan Province, eastern China, and witnessed a large participation of international artists, with more than 300 photographers from 20 countries participating, including France, Italy, Greece, Belgium, New Zealand, Hungary, Egypt, Singapore, Indonesia and Oman.
Artist Alaa El-Basha won the award for his group of photos depicting life on the banks of the Nile. The works were displayed in a group exhibition with 10 Egyptian artists who met with others from China in an event titled “The Nile and the Yellow River”.
The Egyptian photographers presented works that capture the natural landscapes and details of life on the banks of the Nile and its importance as the lifeline of Egypt, while the Chinese artists presented works that capture the beauty of nature on the Yellow River in China.
It is worth noting that the artist Alaa El-Basha holds a master’s degree in photography and is a doctoral researcher in the philosophy of photography. He holds the position of vice president of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), a fellow of the Royal Photographic Society (RPS), founder of both the Adasa Photography Club and the National Foundation for the Arts (Move). He has participated in many events and art exhibitions at both the local and international levels.
