In an important step towards enhancing international cooperation, Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, received today a delegation from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, headed by Professor Dr. Rowan Parks, with the aim of discussing and cooperating to provide accredited training programs for students of the Faculty of Dentistry to provide the necessary skills in line with the requirements of the international labour market, and to work on developing and describing the faculty's curricula to match international classification requirements, in addition to cooperating in training accredited lecturers, qualifying examiners, and implementing several joint programs in continuing education and postgraduate studies with the university.
 
 
 
 
The meeting was attended by Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Hisham Saeed, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Sameh Shehata, Supervisor of the International Relations Office at Alexandria University, Dr. Gihan Gewaifel, Assistant of University President for International Cooperation and International Universities, Dr. Boshra Salem, Assistant of University President for International Classifications, and Dr. Ahmed Abdelhakim, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry.

During the meeting, the university president stressed the importance of this cooperation, which puts Alexandria University on the threshold of a qualitative leap that enhances the position of higher education at Alexandria University globally, which comes as a confirmation of the quality of Egyptian higher education and the confidence of international bodies in our universities. The university president praised the new advantages added by this cooperation, as it contributes to enabling the professional practice of students of the Faculty of Dentistry on a large scale and opening more job opportunities for Egyptian graduates in local, regional and international labour markets, training doctors and accrediting the specialized degrees of the Faculty of Dentistry from the requirements of various specialized fellowships, and the faculty clinics as a clinical training centre, and conducting electronic followship exams. He also valued the constructive cooperation relations that bring together Alexandria University and British universities in the field of higher education and scientific research in many academic specializations.
 
 
 
Professor Rowan Parks expressed his pleasure with this cooperation, which focuses mainly on creating global standards for surgical and dental practices and welcomed the transfer of the Royal College of Surgeons expertise in the field of dentistry to Alexandria University, to help develop this field, and enhance the opportunities for graduates of this specialty to obtain various job opportunities locally, regionally, and internationally.
 
 
 
 
 
During the meeting, a presentation was given about Alexandria University and the steps it has taken towards internationalizing education and cooperation with international universities, international agreements and partnerships, joint and dual degrees with international universities, international branches in Chad and South Sudan, expansion to establish international branches on the university’s land in Borg El Arab, and the new complex of the Faculty of Dentistry.
