The Community Service and Environmental Development Council at Alexandria University, headed by Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, reviewed the results of the comprehensive community convoy to Bahig Village in Borg El Arab within the presidential initiative "Decent Life" (Hayah Karima). In this context, Dr. Saeed Allam thanked all participants in the convoy including faculty members, administrators and students from various faculties and institutes of Alexandria University. He also stressed to the Vice Deans of Faculties and Institutes of Alexandria University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs the need to develop a plan for medical and community service convoys that will be launched during the current year 2024/2025, based on the vision and mission of Alexandria University to support its developmental and pioneering role by providing all health, social and cultural services to citizens in remote villages.
The Council also reviewed the results of the visit of the Supreme Council of Universities Committee to the Best Environmentally Friendly University Competition, headed by Dr. Amani Shaker, Vice President of Kafr Elsheikh University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs. In this context, Dr. Saeed Allam confirmed that Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, stressed the need to continue efforts to preserve the environment and reach a green university and achieve the goals of sustainable development 2030, while Allam stressed the need to rationalize energy consumption and mechanisms for rationalizing water consumption within the university campus.
The Council was informed of the report submitted by Dr. Heba Sabry Attia, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, regarding the introductory workshop on the Francophone Agency Award project funded by the Francophone University Agency entitled “The Semester Transforms into the Labor Market: Developing Agricultural Entrepreneurship Skills”, the report submitted by Dr. Salem Abdelrazek, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, regarding participation in the literacy project at the level of Alexandria Governorate, targeted for the current year 2024/2025, the report submitted by Dr. Ahmed Abdelrehim, Acting Dean of the Institute of Graduate Studies and Research, regarding the activities that took place during the month of July 2024, the report submitted by Dr. Samah Ahmed Salah El-Din, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education for Girls, regarding the activities of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector for the academic year 2023/2024, and the report submitted by Dr. Lamia Othman, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Early Childhood Education for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, regarding the proposed executive plan for the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector for the academic year 2024/2025.
