Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa President of Alexandria University, received Dr. Gina El-Feki, Acting President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, the deputies of the Academy, and a delegation from the Military Technical College, as part of their visit to the Centre of Excellence in Quantum Computing at the Faculty of Science, and the Alexandria Group in Quantum Computing, which is one of the largest research groups in this field in Egypt, the Middle East and Africa, to discuss ways of joint cooperation in the field of quantum computing.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Sherine Khattab, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Dr. Ahmed Younes, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science for Education and Student Affairs.
In his speech during the meeting, Dr. Konsowa welcomed the guests to Alexandria University, stressing the university's keenness to cooperate with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology and the Military Technical College in various scientific and research fields in general, and the field of quantum computing in particular, pointing out the importance of combining the efforts of various academic bodies to develop technology for this important field.
It is worth noting that quantum computing is an interdisciplinary field that includes aspects of computer science, physics, and mathematics that use quantum mechanics to solve complex problems faster than conventional computers. This field includes research on hardware and application development.
