Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, received Ambassador Yang Yi, Consul General of China in Alexandria, accompanied by a delegation from the Standing Committee of the House of Representatives of China’s Guizhou Province, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and sign a letter of intent between the two sides in preparation for signing a joint protocol to enhance research, academic cooperation, and student exchange in the proposed fields.
The meeting was attended by the vice presidents of the university, the deans of the faculties of engineering, agriculture, computers and data sciences, and the office of international relations.
In his speech, Dr. Konsowa welcomed the Chinese delegation to Alexandria University, and reviewed the proposed cooperation opportunities through establishing emerging projects, especially in the fields of smart agriculture, agricultural industrialization, artificial intelligence, Big Data, and their related fields, in addition to the possibility of cooperation through the Center of Excellence in Water and Technology Park at the University. Alexandria, to transform scientific research ideas into applicable outputs that serve society.
While the Consul of China welcomed the cooperation with Alexandria University in the proposed fields, as it is one of the well-established universities that has great experience in the fields that were discussed. The Consul of China invited specialists in these fields from the faculty members and students at Alexandria University to visit the Chinese research and academic institutions that work in these fields, in preparation for establishing joint projects.
