Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, witnessed signing a cooperation agreement between Alexandria National University and the University of East London UEL, in the presence of Dr. Awad Taj El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs, Mr. Hassan Shehata, Minister of Manpower, and Dr. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria National University, and Dr. Hassan Abdullah, Vice President of the University of East London, as part of the activities of launching the national strategy for higher education and scientific research under the auspices of the Prime Minister, and in the presence of a number of ministers, and a group of presidents of public, private and technological universities, and heads of centers and institutes Research bodies, a number of higher education experts, officials of international organizations and bodies, the House of Representatives and the Senate, investors, and a group of media and public figures.
The agreement was signed by Alexandria National University, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Khashen, the academic supervisor of the university, and on behalf of the University of East London, Dr. Hassan Abdullah, Vice President of the University.
Dr. pointed out. Ayman Ashour indicated that this cooperation comes in implementation of the directives of the political leadership on the need to expand cooperation with international universities of distinguished standing globally, to raise the quality of the educational process in new private universities, and to reach international levels, indicating that the international reference is one of the important goals within the axes of the national strategy for education. Higher education and scientific research, to ensure the provision of international quality education for students, and to raise the level of national universities.
The agreement aims to develop a number of dual award programs; To grant prizes presented by Alexandria National University and East London University in the field of encouraging innovation, as well as to participate in achieving the goal of "access" in higher education, which is a priority for both universities.
The items cover several areas of cooperation between the two universities, including; (Integrated Health and Sports Sciences, Engineering and Computer Science, Media and Communication, Arts and Design, Business Administration and Entrepreneurship, Hospitality, Events and Tourism, Law).
The agreement includes; Joint coordination to provide a number of services that support the partnership between the two sides, including educational services, the provision of a “teacher through an academic link” in training courses that take place in partnership between the two parties, support for quality assurance, as well as cooperation in developing the capabilities of faculty members of Alexandria National University, which includes This includes organizing annual visits to provide face-to-face training, lectures by visiting professors, support for employment activities, as well as internal and external supervision of assessment and decision-making.
This partnership between the two universities is an important step to support cooperation in the field of student and faculty exchange between Egypt and the United Kingdom, as well as the implementation of joint research projects, as well as the partnership in creating a new package of study programs that support Egypt's vision for sustainable development 2030, by focusing on majors. Which serve the industrial sector and enhance the capabilities of graduates to suit the labor market, and also contribute to achieving the goals of availability in higher education by providing various educational opportunities that meet the requirements of the increase in the number of students enrolled in university education.
It is worth noting that the University of East London is one of the leading universities in focusing on entrepreneurship in the United Kingdom, and in preparing students for the labor market and developing their capabilities to innovate and lead the future.
