Alexandria University Acting President Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim welcomed a delegation from Pennsylvania State University Harrisburg, USA, led by Dr. David M. Callejo Pérez, Chancellor and CEO of Penn State Harrisburg, on Sunday, October 18, 2026, to discuss opportunities for academic and research collaboration.

The meeting culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for cooperation in professional training, faculty and researcher exchange, joint research projects and educational programs, sharing academic materials and publications, and organizing joint academic events.

Dr. Abdel Hakim emphasized that international partnerships are central to the University's internationalization strategy, supporting academic excellence, research, innovation, and the development of graduates’ competitiveness in local and international job markets.

Dr. Callejo Pérez praised Alexandria University's academic reputation and the competence of its graduates, expressing his university's commitment to building sustainable partnerships and promoting knowledge exchange and joint initiatives.

Following the meeting, the US delegation visited Alexandria University's Faculty of Engineering to explore its educational and research capabilities and discuss potential collaboration in engineering disciplines of mutual interest.
