Alexandria University has continued to strengthen its international presence in prestigious academic and research rankings, being included in 12 academic subjects in the 2026 edition of the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) issued by ShanghaiRanking. The University achieved a notable advancement in Nursing, while Dentistry maintained its position among the world’s top 150 universities for the third consecutive year.

The academic subjects in which Alexandria University was included in the 2026 ShanghaiRanking are: Agricultural Sciences, Biotechnology, Dentistry & Oral Sciences, Education, Food Science & Technology, Instruments Science & Technology, Mathematics, Mining & Mineral Engineering, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, and Veterinary Sciences.

Alexandria University’s Nursing subject achieved a notable advancement, ranking in the 51–75 global band in 2026, compared with the 101–150 global band in 2025. According to the ranking results, Alexandria University ranked first among Egyptian, Arab, and African universities in Nursing.

Meanwhile, Dentistry & Oral Sciences maintained its position in the 101–150 global band for the third consecutive year, reflecting the subject’s sustained international presence.

Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, affirmed that the University’s results in the 2026 ShanghaiRanking reflect its continued efforts to enhance the quality of education and scientific research and strengthen the competitiveness of its faculties and academic disciplines at the international level.

He noted that the University’s continued progress in international rankings is the result of sustained support for scientific research, encouraging high-quality international publications, and strengthening academic and research partnerships, contributing to consolidating Alexandria University’s position at both the regional and international levels.
