Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, received Dr. Mohamed El-Gendy, Secretary-General of the Islamic Research Academy, and his delegation on Monday, August 17, 2026, ahead of the launch of the 22nd Da’wah Week, organized in cooperation with Al-Azhar under the theme “Foundations of Awareness in the Age of Knowledge Openness.”

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of cooperation between Alexandria University and Al-Azhar in promoting awareness among young people, encouraging moderate thought, and helping students distinguish reliable information from misinformation.

Dr. El-Gendy highlighted Al-Azhar’s commitment to engaging directly with university students and addressing their intellectual, social, and cultural concerns, stressing that building awareness is a shared responsibility.

The meeting was followed by the opening of the Da’wah Week activities with a seminar titled “Awareness: An Intellectual Necessity” at the Faculty of Nursing Conference Hall.
