Eng. Ayman Attia, Governor of Alexandria, and Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, attended today, Saturday, August 15, 2026, a ceremony honoring the top students in the general certificate examinations in Alexandria Governorate. The ceremony was held at the Grand Hall of the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, in the presence of Dr. Amira Yassin, Deputy Governor of Alexandria; Dr. Hany Dahi, former Minister of Transport and Chairman of the Board of Abu Qir Fertilizers Company; Dr. Wael El-Maghlani, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Dr. Arabi Abu Zeid, Director of the Alexandria Directorate of Education; as well as a number of members of the House of Representatives and Senate, parents, and students.

In his speech, Eng. Ayman Attia emphasized that the ceremony celebrates success stories built on hard work, perseverance, and determination, praising the role of parents in supporting their children and providing a suitable environment for their success. He affirmed that Alexandria University represents a prestigious academic institution, calling on the students to continue their journey of excellence and stressing the importance of linking education with scientific research, innovation, and labor market needs.

Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim expressed his appreciation to the outstanding students and their parents, emphasizing that the secondary school stage is the beginning, not the end, of their journey. He noted that Alexandria University is committed to supporting young talents and providing them with academic and research support through modern academic programs that meet local and international labor market requirements. He also highlighted the availability of the university’s “Technology Park” facilities to top students and encouraged them to present their ideas and innovations and transform them into real-world projects.

Dr. Hany Dahi emphasized that success is achieved through determination and hard work, noting that the students’ achievements mark the beginning of a new journey filled with challenges. He affirmed Abu Qir Fertilizers Company’s commitment to its social responsibility in supporting outstanding students, stressing the importance of investing in young minds and strengthening cooperation between industrial and educational institutions.

Dr. Arabi Abu Zeid also thanked Alexandria Governorate and Alexandria University for their continued support of the educational system, noting the outstanding results achieved by Alexandria students at the national level, including securing two places among the top ten students nationwide in the General Secondary Certificate examinations, as well as the achievements of technical education students and students with disabilities. He highlighted ongoing efforts to develop technical and technological education, expand applied technology schools, and align their programs with labor market needs.

The ceremony concluded with honoring the top students and presenting them with certificates of appreciation and commemorative shields in recognition of their outstanding achievements and to encourage them to continue their journey of success and excellence.
