As part of Alexandria University's strategy to expand its international presence, Prof. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, received a delegation from the Malaysian Alexandria Academy, headed by Prof. Mohamed Mostafa Ishak, to review the latest developments regarding the establishment of the University's branch in Malaysia.

During the meeting, Alexandria University and the Malaysian Alexandria Academy signed the agreement to establish the University's branch in Malaysia, marking a significant step toward the implementation phase of the project. The branch aims to strengthen academic and research cooperation, particularly in the fields of science, technology, and life sciences, while expanding Alexandria University's global footprint.

Prof. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim reaffirmed the University's commitment to internationalization, highlighting its successful joint and dual-degree programs, existing branches in Chad and South Sudan, and plans to establish new branches in Malaysia, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, and Greece.

The Malaysian delegation praised Alexandria University's distinguished academic reputation and emphasized that the new branch will enhance educational cooperation between Egypt and Malaysia, attract students from Malaysia and Southeast Asia, and create new opportunities for academic exchange and joint research.

The two sides also reviewed the remaining implementation steps, discussed the branch's operational framework and future academic programs, and explored ways to strengthen collaboration in research, student exchange, and faculty mobility.
