The Education and Student Affairs Council of Alexandria University convened on Monday, 20 July 2026, under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University and Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, to discuss a number of issues related to the progress of the educational process, preparations for the summer semester, and other academic and student affairs.

At the outset of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim expressed his appreciation to the University's faculty members, teaching assistants, and administrative staff across all faculties for their outstanding efforts in ensuring the successful completion of the second semester and the efficient and well-organized administration of examinations. He noted that these efforts reflected the University's strong institutional performance and effective cooperation among its various sectors. He also stressed the importance of expediting marking, reviewing, and grade processing to ensure the prompt announcement of second-semester results while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and transparency.

Prof. Dr. Abdel Hakim further emphasized the importance of maintaining the regularity of studies during the summer semester and adhering to the approved academic calendar, including the timely completion of examinations and announcement of summer semester results, in order to ensure the stability of the educational process and provide students with high-quality educational services.

The Council was also informed of the University Council's approval, at its meeting held on 30 June 2026, of the elective university requirements for the 2026/2027 academic year. Among these is the course "Technology Transfer and Commercialization," which aims to enhance students' understanding of transforming research outputs and innovations into commercial applications, introducing them to intellectual property principles, market opportunity assessment, and entrepreneurship, thereby preparing graduates capable of launching innovative start-ups and contributing to the knowledge-based economy.

The Council also commended the Faculty of Engineering for its continued support of the student team "AquaPhoton," following its achievement of first place in the Regional Unmanned Underwater Vehicles and Marine Robotics Competition and its distinguished representation of the Arab Republic of Egypt at the international competition held in Canada. The Council affirmed that this achievement reflects the excellence of Alexandria University's students and their ability to compete and innovate internationally.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Council honored Prof. Dr. Eman Youssef, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Education and Student Affairs, on the completion of her term in office. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim and the Council members expressed their sincere appreciation for her dedicated efforts and valuable contributions to the development of the education and student affairs system at the Faculty of Medicine, wishing her continued success in her academic and professional career.
