
As part of Alexandria University’s ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare services and strengthen partnerships with civil society organizations, Prof. Ahmed Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, and Mrs. Wafaa Mohamed Khattab, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Tadawao Charity Foundation, signed a cooperation protocol between Alexandria University Hospitals and the Foundation. The agreement aims to support university hospitals with the medical equipment and devices needed to improve the quality of healthcare services provided to patients.
The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Hisham Saeed, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; Prof. Affaf Al-Oufy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Tamer Abdallah, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board; Prof. Essam Bedewy, Executive Director of University Hospitals; and Prof. Ahmed Zeed, Professor of Internal Medicine and Hepatology at the Faculty of Medicine.
During the meeting, Prof. Ahmed Abdel Hakim emphasized Alexandria University's commitment to expanding cooperation with active civil society organizations and charitable institutions as part of its societal role and responsibility toward citizens. He noted that such partnerships represent a key pillar in supporting university hospitals and enhancing their capabilities, ultimately contributing to improved healthcare services for patients.
He added that Alexandria University Hospitals play a pivotal role in providing medical care to millions of citizens across the governorates of Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr El-Sheikh, and Matrouh, which necessitates continuous support for their medical and technological capabilities and the modernization of their facilities. He also praised the Tadawao Charity Foundation for its contributions to the healthcare sector through the provision of modern medical equipment and devices.
For her part, Mrs. Wafaa Mohamed Khattab commended the leading role of Alexandria University Hospitals in delivering specialized healthcare services and advanced medical treatment. She reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to supporting university hospitals and participating in initiatives and projects aimed at improving the quality of healthcare services provided to citizens.
The protocol aims to strengthen cooperation between both parties by supporting Alexandria University Hospitals with medical equipment and devices according to their priorities and needs, in compliance with approved technical specifications and applicable regulations. This cooperation is expected to contribute to enhancing healthcare services and improving operational efficiency across the university hospitals.
