
Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, congratulated Alexandria University Hospitals on achieving a new milestone that reflects the excellence of the healthcare system and the continuous development of medical services.
He emphasized that this achievement comes within the framework of preparations to support the Universal Health Insurance System and enhance the quality of healthcare services provided to patients. He noted that Borg El Arab University Hospital successfully fulfilled the requirements for obtaining preliminary accreditation according to the Egyptian standards issued by the General Authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation (GAHAR), becoming the first university hospital in Alexandria Governorate to receive this accreditation, achieving an outstanding evaluation score of 95.5% out of 100.
For his part, Dr. Tamer Abdullah, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board, stated that this accomplishment was the result of continuous support and close follow-up from the Supreme Committee established by the President of Alexandria University to prepare the university hospitals for accreditation. The committee was chaired by Dr. Nermeen Hossam, Deputy Executive Director of University Hospitals, in addition to the integrated efforts of the Borg El Arab University Hospital team.
He added that this success was achieved under the supervision of Dr. Essam Badawi, Acting Executive Director of University Hospitals; Dr. Omnia Nassar, Deputy Executive Director and Director of Quality Assurance at University Hospitals; and Dr. Mohamed Amin, Director of Borg El Arab University Hospital, with active participation from all work teams and various hospital departments. This achievement reflects a strong spirit of teamwork and a commitment to applying the highest standards of quality and excellence in healthcare service delivery.
