As part of Alexandria University’s strategy for internationalizing education, Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of the University, received Ambassador Miguel Yaman Ortega, Ambassador of the Republic of Peru in Cairo, to explore ways of enhancing scientific and academic cooperation between Alexandria University and its counterparts in Peru.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Hisham Saeed, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Dr. Ali Abdel Mohsen, Supervisor of the International Relations Office; and Dr. Gehan Gwefel, Assistant President for Internationalization of Education Affairs.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim welcomed the Ambassador to Alexandria University, emphasizing the university’s commitment to expanding avenues of cooperation with academic and research institutions in Peru. He highlighted opportunities for exchanging faculty members and students, as well as activating joint research projects in various fields, including medicine, engineering, law, economics, archaeology, and the humanities. He also discussed the possibility of hosting Peruvian students to study at Alexandria University and offering academic and cultural exchange programs.

He further pointed to the university’s distinguished international partnerships and its joint and dual-degree programs with leading globally ranked universities. He also highlighted the capabilities of the Arabic Language Teaching Center for Non-Native Speakers at the Faculty of Arts, and its role in promoting cultural communication, in addition to the support provided by the Alexandria University Technology Park as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.

For his part, Ambassador Miguel Yaman Ortega expressed his appreciation for the high academic standing of Alexandria University, affirming his country’s interest in strengthening cooperation with Egyptian educational institutions, particularly Alexandria University. He noted that such collaboration serves mutual interests, supports development efforts, and reflects the university’s status as a regional platform for international scientific cooperation.
