
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, received a delegation from the Fulbright Commission headed by Dr. Maggie Nassif, Executive Director of the Commission, to discuss ways of enhancing academic and research cooperation between both sides in various fields of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Affaf Al-Oufy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Dr. Gehan Gweifel, Assistant President for Internationalization and International Branch Campuses; Prof. Dr. Reham El-Debany, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry; Prof. Dr. Wael El-Moghangy, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Dr. Naglaa Abu Agag, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Graduate Studies and Research; and Prof. Dr. Dina El-Giar, Executive Director of the Projects Management Unit.
The discussions addressed mechanisms of joint cooperation in several fields, including engineering and medical specialties, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, as well as supporting English language teaching programs, developing management skills, and preparing academic leaders, thereby contributing to enhancing the efficiency of the university’s human resources.
Both sides also discussed ways to further develop the Alexandria University Technology Park and strengthen its role in supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, while linking scientific research outcomes with labor market needs.
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim emphasized Alexandria University’s commitment to expanding cooperation with distinguished international institutions, in line with its internationalization strategy and efforts to advance education and scientific research. He also highlighted the importance of benefiting from Fulbright programs in preparing researchers and faculty members and gaining international experience.
For her part, Dr. Maggie Nassif expressed her appreciation for the distinguished status of Alexandria University, stressing the importance of continuing joint cooperation and opening new avenues to benefit from the scholarships and programs offered by the Commission across various disciplines, in support of the development of the educational and research process.
