Under the auspices of Prof. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, the University participated in the “Civilizations on the Land of Civilizations… Bride of Upper Egypt” Forum, hosted by Minia University in celebration of its Golden Jubilee and the 50th anniversary of its establishment. The forum was inaugurated by Prof. Abdelaziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Major General Emad Kedwany, Governor of Minia, with the participation of several university presidents, cultural attachés, and international students from Egyptian universities representing 26 different nationalities.

Alexandria University’s participation came through a student delegation comprising 23 international students from various Arab, African, and Asian countries. The delegation was headed by Prof. Hala Moqalled, Executive Director of the International Students Affairs Office, and supervised by Mr. Shehab Mahrous, Director General of Youth Welfare. The delegation reflected the University’s rich cultural diversity, in line with its commitment to supporting student activities and promoting cultural exchange among students, thereby fostering mutual understanding and communication between different cultures.

In this context, Prof. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, emphasized that the University’s participation in the forum aligns with its commitment to supporting purposeful student activities and enhancing cultural exchange among Egyptian and international youth. He noted that such events contribute to raising students’ awareness and reinforcing values of belonging and tolerance. He further stressed that these forums serve as an important platform to showcase Egypt’s cultural and civilizational diversity and highlight the role of universities in building bridges of communication among different nations. He also reaffirmed the University’s dedication to providing students with opportunities to actively participate in events that enhance their skills and enrich their experiences.

The forum featured a variety of cultural and artistic activities that reflected the heritage and civilizations of participating countries. Alexandria University’s delegation actively engaged in these activities, reflecting the University’s leading role in promoting cultural openness and raising students’ awareness.
