Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, received today, Monday, March 3, 2026, Major General/ Yasser Al-Khatib, Commander of the Northern Military Region, and Dr. Ismail Abdel-Ghaffar, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, at the university headquarters, to discuss ways to support and strengthen joint cooperation and coordination between the parties in academic, research, and community fields, in a manner that serves development plans and enhances integration among state institutions.

During the meeting, Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim emphasized that the Northern Military Region and the Arab Academy represent strategic partners for the university in many national and developmental projects currently taking place in Egypt. He also praised the honorable national role of the Armed Forces in protecting the country’s security and stability, as well as their active contributions to implementing and supporting major and service projects in Alexandria Governorate. He confirmed the continuation of full coordination and constructive cooperation between the university, the Northern Military Region, and the Arab Academy in various areas of shared interest, highlighting Alexandria University’s commitment to providing scientific and consultancy support, and harnessing its research capabilities and academic expertise to contribute to development and progress, in line with its national responsibility and leading role in serving the community.

For his part, Major General/ Yasser Al-Khatib affirmed the Northern Military Region’s commitment to maintaining fruitful cooperation with the university in various fields, noting the importance of integrated roles between state institutions, particularly in supporting developmental projects and serving the people of Alexandria, thus strengthening the state’s efforts to achieve comprehensive development and consolidate the foundations of stability.

Dr. Ismail Abdel-Ghaffar also highlighted the deep ties between the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and Alexandria University, expressing the aspiration for further coordination and integration in academic, research, and training programs. He noted that the coming phase requires strengthening strategic partnerships between higher education institutions and exchanging expertise and resources to prepare qualified cadres capable of meeting labor market needs and supporting sustainable development plans.
