
Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University and Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, attended the closing ceremony of the Ramadan Sports Tournament for Five-a-Side Football and Athletics.
The tournament was held at the University Stadium in a joyful Ramadan atmosphere that reflected the spirit of the holy month, with distinguished student attendance and exemplary sportsmanship.
The event was attended by Dr. Mohamed Bahy El-Din, General Coordinator of Student Activities, Mr. Shehab Mahrous, General Director of Youth Welfare, in addition to supervisors of sports and social activities, several faculty members, and sports specialists at the university.
In his speech during the ceremony, Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim emphasized the university’s commitment to supporting and organizing student activities across various fields—sports, cultural, and social—given their positive impact on building well-rounded student personalities, enhancing teamwork skills, fostering a spirit of competition and self-confidence, and developing leadership and social skills. He noted that such events reflect the university’s dedication to providing a comprehensive campus environment that encourages positive participation and helps discover and nurture students’ talents, in line with the university’s vision of supporting student activities and building an aware and creative generation. He also congratulated the winning teams and presented awards to the first-place winners, praising the students’ discipline and high sportsmanship.
In the same context, the General Administration of Youth Welfare organized a diverse range of artistic and cultural workshops, as well as Ramadan sports championships this year, with the participation of more than 500 male and female students from various faculties.
