The Council of Graduate Studies and Research, which convened on Thursday morning, February 19, 2026, under the chairmanship of Professor Hesham Saeed, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, extended its congratulations to all members of the university community on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

The Council also congratulated Professor Abdel Aziz Konsowa on the issuance of the Presidential Decree by H.E. the President of the Republic appointing him as Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, wishing him continued success and prosperity.

In addition, the Council congratulated Professor Walid Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, on his appointment as Governor of the Red Sea; Professor Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, on his appointment as Acting President of the University; and Professor Wael El-Maghlany, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Education and Student Affairs, on his appointment as Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.

The Council approved the formation of the Board of Directors of the Arabic-language scientific journal “Applications in Sports Science”, as well as the formation of the Board of Directors of the English-language journal Journal of Applied Sports Science. The Council also approved amendments to the bylaws of the Professional Diploma in Sports Pharmacy Practice at the Faculty of Pharmacy under the credit-hour system.

The Council further approved the amendment and merger of the annexes to the Joint International PhD Agreement for Ms. Yasmine Hossam El-Din Hamza, Assistant Lecturer in the Department of French Language and Literature, including the amendment of her dissertation title, in accordance with a request from the University of Poitiers, France.
