
Within the framework of Alexandria University’s strategy to enhance its international presence and expand cooperation with prestigious global universities, Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Vice President of Alexandria University for Education and Student Affairs and Acting President of the University, received this morning, Tuesday, February 17, 2026, Professor Kalo Ebi Ekpigeri, Regional Director of International Relations at Woosong University, South Korea, at the Alexandria University headquarters.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Affaf Al-Oufy, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Roshdy Zahran, Former University President and Secretary of the Supreme Committee for Technology Valley Strategies and Policies; Dr. Ali Abdel Mohsen, Supervisor of the International Relations Office; and Dr. Yasser Rifaat, Professor at the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications and member of the Supreme Committee for Technology Valley Strategies and Policies.
During the meeting, Dr. Abdel Hakim emphasized the University’s commitment to strengthening its international partnerships, highlighting the importance of academic and research collaboration in supporting educational quality and exchanging expertise. Several proposed areas of cooperation were discussed, including student and faculty exchange, organizing joint cultural activities, academic knowledge exchange between the two universities, and the University’s interest in developing collaboration with the Korean side in engineering, artificial intelligence, technology, business, and humanities, in addition to joint research projects and applying scientific research to serve industry and support creativity and innovation through the Alexandria University Technology Park.
Dr. Affaf Al-Oufy highlighted the University’s interest in cooperating with Woosong University to implement research projects aimed at serving the community using modern technology and exploring the possibility of establishing joint degree programs between the two universities.
On his part, the Woosong University representative expressed appreciation for the warm reception, praising Alexandria University’s distinguished academic and research standards, and emphasized the Korean university’s commitment to activating cooperation to achieve shared educational and research goals and open new horizons for international collaboration.
The meeting included a presentation delivered by Dr. Ali Abdel Mohsen, in which he reviewed the University’s human and material resources, academic programs, its position in international rankings, international relations, dual and joint degrees with global universities, in addition to leading centers of excellence across the Middle East in scientific, medical, engineering, and humanities fields.
