Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, announced the issuance of Prime Ministerial Decree No. (4777) of 2025 approving the establishment of branches of Alexandria University in both the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia. This step reflects the university’s prestigious academic standing and the regional and international confidence in its educational and research system.

The University President emphasized that this decision marks a new phase in Alexandria University’s journey toward regional and international expansion, and embodies the Egyptian state’s direction to support the internationalization of higher education and strengthen the global presence of Egyptian universities.

He noted that establishing branches outside the country confirms the university’s ability to compete internationally and reflects the level of academic and research development it has achieved. It also contributes to enhancing Egypt’s soft power and reinforcing the role of Egyptian universities in supporting sustainable development plans.

Dr. Konsowa added that the university is moving forward with the implementation of its international expansion strategy and opening new horizons for cooperation with global educational and research institutions, in a manner that supports its educational mission and keeps pace with the rapid changes in the higher education landscape.

He further explained that the Alexandria University branch in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, aims to offer distinguished academic programs at the undergraduate level in a number of disciplines that meet the needs of the regional and international labor market. These programs will award degrees accredited by Alexandria University, in addition to joint programs and dual degrees in cooperation with prestigious international universities.

He also noted that the university’s branch in Malaysia comes within the framework of strengthening academic and scientific cooperation with Southeast Asian countries. It aims to provide high-quality educational and research programs that contribute to preparing qualified human cadres capable of competing globally, and to enhance Alexandria University’s standing as a leading international university.
