
Alexandria University has been awarded the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certificate for the eleventh consecutive year, after successfully passing the audit conducted by the audit team of GIC, the ISO certification body. This comes within the framework of the University’s continuous commitment to applying the highest institutional quality standards and developing administrative performance.

In this context, and on behalf of Prof. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, Prof. Affaf Al-Oufy, Vice President of Alexandria University for Community Service and Environmental Development, received the audit team—headed by Eng. Amr Al-Helou, Lead Auditor—on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, following the conclusion of the audit process.
The audit lasted two days and included document reviews, field visits, and interviews with staff across various university departments to verify compliance with the requirements of the international standard.
During the closing session, the Head of the Audit Team announced the results of the visit, praising the level of implementation of the quality management system at the University and the high degree of institutional commitment and awareness among its members. He recommended granting Alexandria University the ISO 9001:2015 certificate for a period of three years.
Prof. Affaf Al-Oufy expressed her sincere thanks and appreciation to all members of Alexandria University for their dedicated efforts that contributed to obtaining the certificate, emphasizing that teamwork is the cornerstone of sustainable development and continuous improvement, and of maintaining the prestigious standing Alexandria University deserves as one of Egypt’s oldest universities. She also extended her thanks to the audit team headed by Eng. Amr Al-Helou, stressing that human resources are the University’s true wealth. She announced the organization of a package of training programs and courses for administrative staff in the coming period to prepare cadres capable of assuming future administrative responsibilities, affirming her ongoing follow-up of improvement and development processes within the University.
For his part, Dr. Kamal Metwally, Head of Administrative Quality at the University, explained that this visit was preceded by intensive preparation and qualification phases for the University’s departments in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 international standard. This was carried out under the supervision and follow-up of Prof. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, and Prof. Affaf Al-Oufy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and in coordination with the Assistant Secretaries-General.
The Quality Assurance Administration, in cooperation with quality teams, played a pivotal role in disseminating and monitoring the implementation of the quality system across the University’s various departments.
It is worth noting that Alexandria University first obtained the ISO 9001:2008 certificate in May 2015, and it was renewed in 2016 and 2017. As of 2018, the certificate has been granted according to the updated ISO 9001:2015 standard, which has been renewed this year for a further three years, until 2028.
The closing session was attended by the Assistant Secretaries-General, members of the quality teams, general managers, department directors, quality coordinators, and a number of University staff members.
